Just a thought but can I suggest the games be created one after the other so when Game 4 starts someone creates Game 5 and so on.

That way if someone put their name down and for some reason can't make it, a sub from the next game down can join and everyone else would shift up a spot.

Furthermore, Babak, if you someone had a GhostRating of... oh, let's say 354.533316271904, that person would contribute ~20 points to the pot and in my early example, after winning ~55 points, would see their GhostRating go from 354.533316271904 to 389.533316271904, a jump of 35 points.

Now, let's say another person had a GhostRating of 673.451205401054, that person would contribute nearly 40 points to the pot and thus after gaining 55 points, would only net 15 points, securing a GhostRating of ~688.451205401054

How about we set the cut-off for game 6 at Midnight Sunday GMT or until 2 more people join to push The General down? Since it's going to be 48 hour phase this should give The General time to join after the weekend (not sure what time zone he's in).

The original ratings games were supposed to be the top seven rated players, then the next seven, etc.

However, for some reason, as so many players signed up, they were seeded and we had a layered line-up.

I was hoping we could get back to the ideal of the seven highest again...

flashman - I agree... but we kept the game open for 2.5 days... and announced a deadline. maybe I should have kept it open for longer or privately messaged the top players...

I don't like high point games - they seem to attract the money men. The ratings games are better balanced because you cannot get relatively high up without some decent results in WTA play. Normal points can be accumulated through draws, PPSC and general bean counting tricks.

I would very much be interested in a top level ratings game though. I know Mr Marx keeps telling us that he is tired and should not be playing any more games but he would not turn down a chance if we had a real top ten-ish line up.

Well it looks like someone needs to create a game 5 game assuming everyone on the list is still keen. I won't volunteer though as if someone else decides to join, I'm bottom of the list and will be bumped to game 6 so any volunteers?

The rule for being in a certain game is rating right? So why should someone be pushed down without wanting or demanding an exception.
Don't want to be harsh with anyone, but who wants to make exceptions, like being in the same game with another person should be the one to be "sacrificed".
If for example Jacob really wanted to play with me would be fair for me to play in game 4 and relegate theghostmaker to game 5?

Note that if they were bumped to game 6 I should be the one to go up. THAT'S NOT WHAT I PRETEND WITH THIS POST! I just don't think it is fair fot you stripy. But if you don't mind :)
