It looked like a dumb way of signposting your distance from Mafia knowledge and flagging interested in town's targets -- when it's really simple information that didn't really need 2 loud attention-grabbing posts calling the GM.

So I think my top scum read at the moment is ##VOTE Vashta. role post does look like trying to contribute while doing basically nothing, and he puts a vote down on a lurker in the first 24 hours of the game, which seems lazy and scummy. let's talk about lynching lurkers when we've got less than 12 hours left in the phase and we can see who the true Day 1 lurkers are, eh? and actually talk/vote now on the contributors in the game where there are valid opinions to be had that are based on real conversation.

i'm pretty suspicious of yoyoyozo as well. HR and PE had valid complaints/scum accusations to level at me, and it felt like yoyoyozo was lazily trying to go along. plus i don't like his lurker vote on guak so early.

@Maniac: frankly, there's nothing I disagree with in your 6.57pm post -- I literally laughed out loud when I read your Chaqa-arse comment (any my partner looked across and said remind what is this game?). Your vote on krellin is tempting and understandable, but it's a non-game reason that seems petty (even if he is loathsome - the Merle to my Michonne).

Do I want you to be more or less charming? Less handsome! Your pretty features are so, so distracting.

PE's spot on about lack of scumhunting/general talking a lot without saying anything psycho killer tendencies. He also told me before the game started that he was hoping krellin wouldn't play and would try to get rid of him early if he was, and now he's doing that and pretending it's for another reason (props to Maniac for at least being honest about it, but that's terrible and needs to stop too) which isn't even valid, as krellin told us he'd be busy before the game started.

I don't like that y2k's voting for him now too, but maybe he's already seeing the writing on the wall for the two of them and bussing his buddy.


Agreed with wjessop on the potential motivations for claiming to not know the number of scum. Agreed with lots of people that wjessop's been oddly quiet, but hopefully that's going to change here. Wj, what do you think about everyone so far?

I agree that PEs supposed need to call GMs in order to confirm scum numbers was just odd. Not sure how much can be read into it on its own. I want to see more from Flum about how he actually sees his idea working. Because I'm not seeing him do anything to make it work.

@Gung: Lol. I reject the suggestion that I've been quiet, oddly or not. That's simply untrue -- but it's a nice way for Mafia to start a wagon trail on me. I accept that both townies and Mafia can see me as a threat in this game because I'm articulate, played well in my last game Mafia 9, which was also my first Mafia game, and I have a good nose: I was the one who worked out guak and DO were vig and cop, respectively, so I won't be surprised if I get NKed. But, then again, this is the All-Star (All Stars'?) game so everyone (minus Chaqa) is pretty awesome, the 6 pages so far are pretty intense already, fun clever stuff.

I hadn't noticed Krellin had said he was busy Ghug. But no matter we have a new prime suspect and that's Y2.
On page 5 Y2 said “I think if anyone does lurk through most/all of Day 1 I would support a lurker lynch.” We are about 20hrs into D1 which in my eyes constitutes ‘most’ of D1. And yet Y2 has done a swift volte-face and now condemns Vash for voting for Krellin and yoyo for voting for Guak. Not only does he condemn Vash for his krellin vote but he votes for Vash as well. Townies would see Vash and Yoyo’s votes on lurkers as just being pressure. I think Y2 has questions to answer about his contradictory positions and until he provides an answer I’m going to ##vote Y2 and encourage you all to follow my lead.

Also. @Ghug: "agreed with lots of people"? What kindof scummy wagon-leading is that? Literally only two people have even commented on me so far, HR and Maniac. Remember that I inow how you work now, with your slow-burn bs build ups that lead people into wagon formations. I will see through this stuff.

i think lynching someone who lurks all of Day 1 could be beneficial, but voting for lurkers now with more than 24 hours left in the day is a good way to avoid scumhunting.

lurkers right now are likely just not in the game yet and haven't seen it. after a full game day though, that becomes inexcusable. krellin is the only one that explained his excuse before roles were dolled out and might miss most of D1 if there isn't an extension.

Btw just for the record I was slightly taken aback by Vash's comment that he hated lurkers. I didn't recall him being so hate filled before. In M8 he said "..policy lynching lurkers, which we've always thought about but never do, might not be too bad.” (pg 15) Hardly a hate filled statement but I suppose it does correlate to him pressure voting Krellin.

Warden, I ain't Flum, and I was kinda hoping he'd get the discussion going so I could watch, but I kind of agree with him, so I'll step in.

Day one is nearly useless from the perspective of actually catching scum now. In the end, it's about as effective as a random guess. What we do get out of it though is a bunch of information on the wagons in retrospect once we know a few alignments. What voting end does is put more pressure on the mafia, forcing them into more obvious vote manipulation and making it easier for us to catch the mafia. If everyone's voting end, you've gotta make a snap decision on any wagon that forms on a teammate: bus day one or go all out for an alternative wagon before someone casts the final vote. You can't risk waiting around to see if the wagon will rise or fall on its own. Likewise, it freaks mafia out more when they're targeted themselves, which makes them more prone to mistakes.

I don't think I'd want to do it past day one, but it makes some sense now if everyone actually hops on board.

i want to put pressure on active players right now who would respond to it, not lurkers that will ignore it.

i get the appeal to ending Day 1 early and catching mafia off guard, but ultimately i think it just limits town discussion and hurts town more than it hurts scum. Day 1 is the only day where this could be viable when town really has no information to go on. in later days, it's no doubt to the town's benefit to utilize the entire day to scumhunt and pick a reasonable lynch target based on the information at hand.

even if the majority of townies are misguided and wrong in their reads on day 1, it's helpful to see everyone's thoughts out the gate.

Nobody's advocating it past D1. You just basically said nothing useful.

and as ghug said, those thoughts will be helpful when tying into future game actions/events and doing legitimate scumhunting down the road, even if it can't be done well yet due to lack of info.

isn't it way more telling that online vashta isn't responding to scum accusations/votes thrown his way, than the fact that AFK krellin isn't responding to the votes on him?

What are you not getting? Krellin is active, he has posted in a number of other threads in the past 24 hours.
