Diplomat33, thanks for taking the initiative, we're not looking for people to sign up to host, this whole "cut-throat" challenge came about from a game that Balaran, slyster and I played in, so we are the only hosts. My intent is to prove to Balaran and slyster what a kick ass place to play diplomacy we have here, so I'm looking for the best of the best to teach those two boys a thing or two, haha! ;-)

(I'm confident Balaran and slyster will actually do the opposite, and teach all of us a few lessons, but it's fun to joke with them, they are both great guys and I'm actually trying to get them sucked into our community to make this an ever better place to play)

Hey, what about a no-host "exhibition" game after these three are done, with the top three finishers from Game 1, the top two from Game 2, and the top two from Game 3?? If there's a three-or four-way draw we can choose by number of supply centers, and if two players are eliminated the same turn, or if there is another type of tie, then we can see who moves on by lottery.

So I might have missed a posted comment, but why is Balaran in two games?

I wanted to play Balaran or Slyster or Cachimbo or MadMarx. I play Mujus and Czech and Dan-i-am all the time (and you too, D33). I'm tired of risking GR for minimal gain.

Sarg is only interested in my GR, he's been stalking me for a while now. ;-)

I would fill it, i think 5 point games are fun and with a quite attractive group of players I couldn't resist. The only danger is being ganged up on due to the fact I am less experienced than the rest. But then, I could be underestimated too...

Thanks JMO. That works and I appreciate it. I play with Tom and fortknox quite a bit, but having Balaran and slyster in this makes it worth while as I haven't played either and look forward to it.

@ MM, regarding your challenge: are you really challenging me or are you just trying to do good by Draug? ;-)

I'll set up a "Brazilian Invitational" soon. There will be 2 games, and invites will be sent out personally to players who have been asking to play me or have been looking for some revenge. It won't be based on GR and I already have the 12 players in mind. I also have a few replacements in mind, just in case some of the first 12 can't make it. Until then, however, I will be content finishing the games I have already started.

Take this as a (very) polite way of declining your challenge, MM. Or, rather, take it as my way to postpone the moment where you and I will meet again.
