Magnavox Micromatic Cabinet Record Player
So, I bought a Magnavox Micromatic Cabinet Record Player circa 1968 at Goodwill today. I've never been a huge audiophile but this is still one of the best purchases I've ever made. I'm particularly impressed I was able to plug it in after more than 40 years and have it work right away.

Automatic Cancel
How come games that start with less than 7 players don't automatically cancel? If 2 or more countries don't even show up in a live game why does the system allow it be voted on? It seems like the countries that can get an immediate jump have no incentive to cancel.

Facebook Parenting, Or, How His Daughter Learned to Stop Bitching and Respect Her Parents
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl1ujzRidmU
I was a right shit to my parents at times at 15, especially my father, sure, who isn't as a teenaged boy...but if I'd EVER done or said what she did, I'd have been parented and HOW...and I'd NEVER post something that disrespectful on Facebook like that...but--her father works for Information Technology, and she did that and thought it was smart? Good for him, I say, good parenting...agree?

Which doesn't in no way denounces yebellz skills which earned him the solo. He won the game himself.
uclabb (589 D)
14 Oct 11 UTC
I was really, really disappointed that you screwed me over ulytau... I never move on you and then you become yebellz's bitch as you go out? I thought that was pretty pathetic. And then I don't know what the hell mapleleaf or anyone in the south was doing either... That was the worst gunboat game I have been in a while.

Nevertheless, great job yebellz!
Sargmacher (0 DX)
14 Oct 11 UTC
I agree completely with uclabb. Maniac was a complete disappointment as Austria - he made the game very difficult and was the reason we failed to set up a stalemate in time, everyone else got it except for him.
Sargmacher (0 DX)
14 Oct 11 UTC
Sorry, I made a mistake there - I meant Troodonte as Austria, not Maniac.
uclabb (589 D)
14 Oct 11 UTC
Trodonte too.... I couldn't figure out why Tyrolia refused to support Munich's hold.
ulytau (541 D)
15 Oct 11 UTC
Well, uclabb, you failed to dent France (why didn't you cut that support from Burgundy with Munich?) and considering mapleleaf opened North, I didn't really have much leeway to survive. I think people generally assume screwing over the guy who made them lose is a goal as well and that's what I did. You were an ally who I counted upon but you didn't advanced neither to France or Russia. After I screwed myself (because yes, that was my worst gunboat performance ever and I apologize that it came in such an important match), you were the next in line.
uclabb (589 D)
15 Oct 11 UTC
I think I know when you are talking about, and I didn't move to Burgundy because Italy was moving to Munich, I already had a build coming, and it seemed unlikely that at least one of Brest and MAO wouldn't cut English Channel. I supported you to Norway that turn. Had you not literally forfeited all of England by giving Liverpool away for free (and everything else right after that), we would have been fine.
uclabb (589 D)
15 Oct 11 UTC
And what are you talking about I didn't advance on Russia. I took Sweden and supported you back into Norway that turn. You are just trying to make stuff up to rationalize your implosion.
yebellz (729 D(G))
15 Oct 11 UTC
Good game, everyone.

I'm very pleased to take the solo. I think I played well enough to earn it, but I certainly caught some big breaks. Many things that were beyond my control just happened to fall in my favor.

I was handed a golden position, and frankly I'm happy I didn't squander it and have to settle for a draw.

I'm to blame for Austria's play. I was in Tyr, '05, not Troodonte, and I was also the one who NMRd twice.

My apologies to everyone involved. I knew I was going to be busy in RL, but it's been more than I expected :)

Best of luck the rest of the way.

oh well... not that I don't assume my moves when I make them, but really... I took over Austria and played only 3 or 4 moves I think... The game was won already.

arrgh...so close. JesusPetry and Sargmacher, you both played incredibly well.

And I'm tempted to apologize to hammoc for utterly wiping you out, but you'll have to think of it as punishment for taking Vienna from me. I was willing to support you into Serbia, Greece, and even Smyrna. You can check the order logs for proof.
