Help for feeling like a bad person?
So i'm in a high point non-WTA gunboat, and everyone is playing a top notch game, we are able to communicate using support holds, etc. But then I stab my ally for SCs and profit. I feel sort of bad about it, because i'm essentially stealing a lot of points from somebody that was nice enough to play with me.

How can I feel better about myself in these circumstances?

Minor 'bug'
I stumbled on a very minor bug yesterday. If I have an army in Ruhr, supporting fleet in Belgium to hold, but I change that to support holding an army in Holland, it says: "Army Ruhr support hold to fleet Holland". Should this be fixed?

"Most Dangerous city in the world"
A friend of mine just came back from a pub quiz, which they won. The prize of £150 all came to the final question, "If Baghdad is the most dangerous city in the world, where is second?"

I haven't kept track of how many boards, but sounds like three people are bringing boards based just on the last few posts. I will plan to leave my board at home, since I'm flying all the way across the country, though it probably wouldn't hurt to have a fourth as a backup plan, who else plans to bring a board?
joey1 (198 D)
21 Apr 11 UTC
Well I just went looking and I can't find my board (I haven't played with it in over 10 years). I may find it before the tournament, and even then I think there are 3 other boards coming.

What do we do if we get less then 21? Teams could be interesting to try? Would it be an advantage to be able to go off and talk to 2 different players at the same time, or would the intra team communication make it much harder. We can also play the traditional variants with less then 7 players (Someone make an ancient med board).

I still hope we get a full compliment of 21.

FYI - At the Seattle F2F tourney, those that travelled farthest got to play first, and the hosts played last, if there wasn't a total number of people divisible by 7. One time we had 20 people, so one person played two games, which would be pretty crazy trying to talk with 12 other people every phase rather than just 6.

5 more to go, cool. @Joey-At the FTF I was at, some people played 2 games at once, or the host/volunteers sat out, depending on how many people were present. I'm sure our Tournament Directors Ab and Wizard will have it all figured out.

Also, those of u who have other cool games (settlers, munchkins, aquire, etc... NOT axis & Allies- too long) bring them. The players that get eliminated early will then have something to do =P

I have my wooden-pieces dip board too, and I can bring it, but lent out my settlers, so can't bring that =(
yebellz (729 D(G))
27 Apr 11 UTC
I can also bring Settlers (including the 5-6 player expansion pack) as well as my Diplomacy set (the Avalon Hill edition with metal pieces)

I have Settlers, Seafarers and the expansion packs that allow 5-6 players in each. Those games almost always take less then 2 hours so those who are eliminated can play other fun games.

awesome! i'm looking forward to the settlers almost as much as I am to playing FtF dip =P

for those of you with more time on your hands than you know what to do with... here is a pretty damn awesome website where you can play Settlers with pretty darn good players (its called 'explorers' on this site for tm reasons I think):

I also have an other game called Citadels that I will bring along. The nice thing with this game is that it can be played with anywhere from 2-8 players and takes less setup space then Settlers.

CHEATERS!! can the GMs verify?
I am not confident that France and England are different players in "The Return of the Conqueror" game
Can a fleet in English Channel that belongs to England support a french army in Bel if they do not talk to each other or "is" the same player?
This makes the confidence in this site VERY LOW!

Forum issue: timestamps
I've just noticed that there's (something that's potentially) an error in the timestamps on the forum. The stamps shouldn't specify the day/date/month when that date is not *today*, but in fact they don't specify when the post was created within the last 24 hours. Perhaps this was intentional, but when I see a timestamp reading 03:00 PM, even if it's actually 2:30 PM, I don't immediately realise that it was yesterday. Issue or not?
