The Religious State
Having seen many opinions on this forum, I am wondering about the acceptability of a religious state. Should a state be able to be primarily Muslim, Jewish, or Christian (etc.)? Is this acceptable in the modern world? If so, how far can this theocracy of sorts go? May they make laws based upon the respective religion? How far reaching should these laws be?

Please discuss, and remain amicable.

Happy Easter everyone
On this auspicious day I would like to share with the community my belief that the resurrection of Jesus was figurative, and not literal. The "risen" Jesus is the one that won the greatest person in history tournament. Respectfully, that's what I believe. He is risen, risen indeed.

I've recently been to the vdiplomacy site and it was very interesting that the interface and logo look similar to the webdiplomacy one. Are the 2 sites somehow related?

I uploaded SunZi's "Little Dipper" Android application to Aptoide
Our very own SunZi (userID=19506) once created a useful Android app Diplomacy adjudicator based on webDiplomacy code. SunZi publically published this adjudicator app ("Little Dipper") on GetJar, where it is still free to download.

For the sake of archiving SunZi's work, which our comrade gave the bare minimum of advertising (threadID=879472 & threadID=882356), I uploaded the app to Aptoide.

What to do?
What do you do when you're playing with an asshole that has the chance to draw, but refuses to do so when it is obvious that another player is going to get a solo? He's so annoying it hurts I really don't know what to do I mean it's obvious that if we continue the game will be a solo for another guy. He simply REFUSES TO DRAW

So you're behind stealing food from the separatists and giving it to the loyal camp then? That's good. We can ask fruit to be brought in on our next ship and give it to them then, or we can wait until the apples grow, but we have to be absolutely certain that we lovebomb our faithful followers. We can't pull out of the promises we made them. If we adjust them into something equally or more beneficial to them (such as more food instead of fruit), fine, but we can't just tell them to wait.

The Magistrate reminds the council there is one proposed policy left to be decided on.

Tasks
Assign Barrow to Pearl Harvesting
Recall the LT and have him defend
Offer Loyal colonists a position as Advisor
Give Loyal Colonists 5 bolts of Cloth and increased rations
Have the Mason build a Palisade around the Town Center
Assign 3 Wheat Farmers to Construction
Assign 15 Wheat Farmers to Pearls
Eliminate Fruit Consumption and blame Sepratists
Reduce Meat Consumption (BELAYED)
Assign 2 Apple Workers to Tomatoes
Have the Royal Guard take any food collected by the Separatists

Policies
Make it illegal for colonists not loyal to the King to approach buildings marked with a banner (PROPOSED)
Add new mothers (~80) to workforce and have the Elders watch over infants (REPEALED)
Lower the age of the workforce to 12 (ENACTED)

Magistrate, do we have the resources to either meet or improve upon the promises we made the natives? We need to make sure the loyalists have very good reason to stick with us despite this fruit dilemma.

Magistrate: It is up to the Council to tell me if a policy should be enacted.

Magistrate: Councilor bo, supplies and resources available are listed in the Scroll. Those plus what is taken by the Royal Guard can be used as the Council sees fit.

Then we should replace fruit with either wheat or gold, whichever is less of a sacrifice for us, and let the loyalists know that they will receive their fruit once it has grown.

We also don't have enough meat to give them. Instead of meat, I say give them more wheat (since we have a decent stockpile) as well as gold. So, pretty much, I like bo's idea.

I am happy with 12 gold and extra wheat (the question being how much we can afford to give). I would not object to handing out some of those royal seals that we discussed either to the heads of some of the most loyal families with the most workers and the most disdain for the elders. We should try to get to know our loyal families personally (or, for the sake of the Magistrate, send some advisors to get to know the loyal families personally) so that we might figure out who is most on our side and who is still on the fence. We demonstrate to those on the fence that we are the right choice by giving out the royal seals to those who show the most loyalty to our cause.

Not deadly. Try to leave as few traces behind - we would be better off convincing them to join our side than forcing them. We may also lose followers if we are too violent. At the same time, we have people to feed, so make sure you get what we need.

Year 1
Month 5

Magistrate: Councilors, I have enacted the tasks given to me. The current state of the town can be found in the scroll.

Lt of the Guard: Councilors, we have returned from exploring and are ready to defend the town. We will have a crude map of our findings for your shortly. The beach along the North-West is large and contains plenty of room for full fledged docks. To the West and East of the docks, the elevation increases rapidly. Moving South-East half a day is the Town and large structures. Wheat fields and huts are scattered around, the furthest being about 1 day south of the town. The town is surrounded by dense woods. Several days South-East is a decent sized mountain. Following the mountain due south is a large lake. We continued following the mountain south until we reached the end of the island, still elevated enough as to prevent access. We followed the western edge of the island until we reached the town again. Past the mountains was not explored.

Magistrate: The Loyal Colonists have asked to be represented by their own group of Loyal Elders.

Loyal Elders: We thank you for the opportunity to serve the King and His Council. We are disappointed you were not able to deliver us Fruit, but we we are pleased by the gold and wheat. We are eager to serve.

Lt of the Guard: Councilors, 2 Separatists refused to disperse at the docks and have been arrested.

Captain of the Guard: Councilors, 4 Separatists refused to disperse at the granary and have been arrested.

Lt of the Guard: Councilors, we recovered as much wheat and game from the Separatists as possible without causing injury. 8 Separatists were arrested.

Magistrate: Around 50 Separatists have pledged fealty to the King. I have assigned them temporary work for this month.

Mason: I have begun construction of the Palisade.

Convoying Question - the roundabout
Let us suppose someone has an army in Yorkshire and a fleet in North Sea. However, the army is beset by enemies in London and Liverpool.
Our army in Yorkshire is going to be pushed out. If we assume the attack will come from London supported by Liverpool... could our army in Yorkshire, convoy through the fleet in North Sea and land again at the newly vacated London?
