The Religious State
Having seen many opinions on this forum, I am wondering about the acceptability of a religious state. Should a state be able to be primarily Muslim, Jewish, or Christian (etc.)? Is this acceptable in the modern world? If so, how far can this theocracy of sorts go? May they make laws based upon the respective religion? How far reaching should these laws be?

Please discuss, and remain amicable.

Happy Easter everyone
On this auspicious day I would like to share with the community my belief that the resurrection of Jesus was figurative, and not literal. The "risen" Jesus is the one that won the greatest person in history tournament. Respectfully, that's what I believe. He is risen, risen indeed.

What's the difference between vdiplomacy and webdiplomacy?
I've recently been to the vdiplomacy site and it was very interesting that the interface and logo look similar to the webdiplomacy one. Are the 2 sites somehow related?

I uploaded SunZi's "Little Dipper" Android application to Aptoide
Our very own SunZi (userID=19506) once created a useful Android app Diplomacy adjudicator based on webDiplomacy code. SunZi publically published this adjudicator app ("Little Dipper") on GetJar, where it is still free to download.

For the sake of archiving SunZi's work, which our comrade gave the bare minimum of advertising (threadID=879472 & threadID=882356), I uploaded the app to Aptoide.

What to do?
What do you do when you're playing with an asshole that has the chance to draw, but refuses to do so when it is obvious that another player is going to get a solo? He's so annoying it hurts I really don't know what to do I mean it's obvious that if we continue the game will be a solo for another guy. He simply REFUSES TO DRAW

I remember someone mentioned that HR wouldn't be around enough to manage the HC position and HR denied that accusation saying that he would be available. Where is our HC now? we are sitting here completely stagnant on voting because HR is NOT around enough to be the HC.

The Magistrate reminds the Council that they must accept the Elders demand for 1 Gold per Pearl or present a counteroffer

Tasks
Have the Farmer oversee Chickens
Recall the Lt of the Guard and have him defend the town (CONFLICT)
Issue formal apology to Elders
Attempt to recruit Elders as Advisors (CONFLICT)
Have the Alchemist research Medicine (CONFLICT)
Present counteroffer to Elders (undecided)
Assign 1 Game Hunter to Wheat

Policies
Add new mothers (~80) to workforce and have the Elders watch over infants (TO BE REPEALED)
Lower the age of the workforce to 12 (ENACTED)

What counteroffer plan do we go with? We can't afford the 1 Gold/Point Request.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
23 Mar 15 UTC
maybe we should make it an option for the women and children to work. Say any women of children who wish to work will be compensated in extra food rations,or cloth. That way we get a few added workers and the elders can't complain about their people choosing to work. We should also offer the elders the meeting place and to fix any building or structure that the elders wish to have upgraded. Thus appealing their personal interests and letting them choose a place to be upgraded so they feel like they have a say, and can use the upgrades as a pork barrel policy to show the colonists. We shouldn't bring back the Lt and his band of guards, they should finish searching so we can get more knowledge, the alchemist should continue research into agriculture, and we should immediately begin administering our current 100 vaccines. This will accomplish: a safety net to help stave off disease, increase production from where it was last month without angering the people or elders, establish agricultural upgrades, and get us more information about the region we are in.
There is no conflict on the Elders. I'm fine with "recruiting" them, I just want to make sure they won't get offended. I want to "recruit" them respectfully.

Here, a GForm for our current conflicts. My first GForm ever, so let me know if I did something strange.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1AV6HH9uylhxPwztUANicIwjHgEyHMb-dVqe5wCiQzso/viewform?usp=send_form
To be honest, I think this offer of the Elders is somewhat strange. They don't really value gold and are communal. We do one stupid thing, then all of a sudden they want gold. I wonder if there is not something to be done in terms of giving them our respect and then returning to the basis we were on before. Can we not right our wrongs?

It might be a good idea to cede the Town Hall to them, create a parliament of sorts. This will help in keeping the opinions of the locals visible to us, preventing us from doing rash stuff.

@CB: Please continue with making notes where you are not serious :-)

When they are determined solely by age? It's like saying we represent the majority of our Kingdom. He wants to speak to the individuals. Though, doing so may anger a few people.

The magistrate informs the council there is not Mich time remaining and there are several tasks that need to be resoloved.
Well there is this vote to resolve the conflicts:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1AV6HH9uylhxPwztUANicIwjHgEyHMb-dVqe5wCiQzso/viewform?usp=send_form

If nobody else votes, I guess I get my way.

The Elders recruitment conflict seems resolved, but what specific counteroffer we're using remains undecided. 530 Plan?

We don't want to meet with all of the colonists, just a few (say, 10%) of the adult workforce.
TrPrado (461 D)
23 Mar 15 UTC
I feel like most of our policy for this month has been establishing the counteroffer, but the only thing (most people have expressed interest at this point to leave the Lt exploring and the Alchemist keep going on Agriculture) we can't decide on (somehow the conversation has kept avoiding this the moment it's brought up) is how much gold we want to pay them.
TrPrado (461 D)
23 Mar 15 UTC
Regarding HR's plan: Make damn sure the Elders do NOT find out about it.

Convoying Question - the roundabout
Let us suppose someone has an army in Yorkshire and a fleet in North Sea. However, the army is beset by enemies in London and Liverpool.
Our army in Yorkshire is going to be pushed out. If we assume the attack will come from London supported by Liverpool... could our army in Yorkshire, convoy through the fleet in North Sea and land again at the newly vacated London?
