Man, you guys make me want to play video games so much now. The only one I really play consistently now is Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and I'm getting pretty good at it. You guys should try it out, it's a free FPS that just has to be downloaded. It's not the most realistic thing, and it doesn't have the greatest graphics, but the gameplay is so fun. Also PC FPS are far superior than console FPS though I also used to play the Halo and CoD series.
Morrowind was a great game, and the best part was all the custom player-made plug-ins that added so much to the game. Truly a sandbox adventure.
I've definitely spent my fair share of hours playing the Civilization series, but one aspect always bothered me... If I got a really good start, then no AI would ever catch up to me... If I didn't get a good start in a good area, then I'd forever be playing the middleman when it came to technology, unless somehow, I ended up with all the rubber in the world. I suppose it somewhat demonstrates the phenomenon of geopolitical determinism with respect to the success of civilizations and goes to show that it's not some racial superiority... but it made for a fairly predictable game. I never did play online because it seemed that it would take too much time to play a full game in one sitting.
Final Fantasy VIII was my favourite of the FF series, but probably because it was the first that I played. I also really liked the Final Fantasy Tactics games which are my favourite turn based tactical games that I've played.
