The Religious State
Having seen many opinions on this forum, I am wondering about the acceptability of a religious state. Should a state be able to be primarily Muslim, Jewish, or Christian (etc.)? Is this acceptable in the modern world? If so, how far can this theocracy of sorts go? May they make laws based upon the respective religion? How far reaching should these laws be?

Please discuss, and remain amicable.

Happy Easter everyone
On this auspicious day I would like to share with the community my belief that the resurrection of Jesus was figurative, and not literal. The "risen" Jesus is the one that won the greatest person in history tournament. Respectfully, that's what I believe. He is risen, risen indeed.

I uploaded SunZi's "Little Dipper" Android application to Aptoide
Our very own SunZi (userID=19506) once created a useful Android app Diplomacy adjudicator based on webDiplomacy code. SunZi publically published this adjudicator app ("Little Dipper") on GetJar, where it is still free to download.

For the sake of archiving SunZi's work, which our comrade gave the bare minimum of advertising (threadID=879472 & threadID=882356), I uploaded the app to Aptoide.

What do you do when you're playing with an asshole that has the chance to draw, but refuses to do so when it is obvious that another player is going to get a solo? He's so annoying it hurts I really don't know what to do I mean it's obvious that if we continue the game will be a solo for another guy. He simply REFUSES TO DRAW

Thank you esteemed alchemist for making clear your many skills. It would be of great value if you could research our new environment to see if we could look for resources in a more effective manner.

Have the Farmer observe resource management
Assign Idle worker to Pearl farming
Have the Mason inspect buildings

Have the Alchemist observe the colonists
Assign 2-Wheeled Barrow to Wood Workers
Assign 12 Wood Workers to Perl Harvesting
Have the Alchemist Research Agriculture

Proposed Policies:
Have female children farm for pearls (NOT TO BE IMPLEMENTED)
I didnt see the task for Alchemist (he's listed twice - confused me), but tbh I prefer to start upping effectiveness soon. We can't stay on this level, we'll be inviting catastrophe at the very first setback.

If the alchemist is doing this much research, give the encyclopedia to him instead of the missionary.

Fine with that too.

If the farmer is teaching locals about our farming methods, I would prefer he also bring us some details as to how the locals here practice agriculture. There are more than likely going to be adjustments to be made to our own methods in a different climate and different soil tendencies.

We also have a pretty pressing need for water. I'm not sure if anyone else has brought this up yet or not, but given that there are a lot more of us than there were just a few moments ago (or weeks, or whatever), we need to make arrangements so that we can all bathe and drink sustainably without putting anyone else at risk.

The Magistrate assures Councilor bo that the towns water needs are currently sufficient to your needs.

I agree with TrPrado. The encyclopedia and writing supplies should go to the alchemist. The missionary will be able to manage without the encyclopedia.

Would assigning the surveying equipment to the royal guard speed up their investigation of the area?
Perhaps the Magistrate could also update the scroll to reflect both 'current tasks' as well as 'assigned tasks' for our advisors. This would help to ensure all of us are working as effectively as possible.

Year 1 Month 2

Councilors, the Magistrate has enacted as many tasks as efficiently as possible and updated the Scroll with the newest information of WebDipia.

Magistrate: I have completed a basic census, the results of which can be found in the Scroll.

Captain of the Guard: The Royal Guard have converted the Barrack and it will serve as suitable quarters. We completed a preliminary investigation of the area. The shore where we arrived contains small docks and several fishing boats. As the shore ends, the island elevates quickly to rocky overhangs in either direction. From our preliminary exploration, it does not appear there is another access to the island nearby. Heading up the shore, it is a short hike to the main town. The Town Hall, Barrack, and Granary are located in a large central clearing, surrounded by scattered huts. There is plenty of room for expansion. There are small decentralized wheat fields throughout the town. Further past the town is dense forrest, where the colonists gather most of their lumber. Off in the distance is a sizable mountain. I have sent the Lt of the Guard to explore further with the surveying equipment. I will remain with the rest of the troops to defend the town.

Mason: All structures in the town are made of wood. I am not a carpenter, but I can say there is no visible rot and the structures seem sturdy. I have begun construction of the barn; it shall be completed in one month. The mountain the Captain mentions could be used for collecting stone for building larger structures, but the forrest is dense and would first need to be cleared.

Alchemist: I have observed the colonists. They are hardworking, but disorganized. I am not a proper physician, but there are no signs of starvation. I would suggest more fruit be added to the colonists' diet to increase their health and more meat to increase their strength. I have begun research into agriculture. With an educated population, my research would be more productive.

Missionary: I have observed the colonists. They are good natured and do not seem overly concerned by our presence. Some are excited to see the King’s presence re-established, a few are less pleased, but most are indifferent. The colonists appear to be very communal and appear to be polygamous, which I must remind you is against our faith. I can educate the population so they perform increasingly complicated jobs or I can begin converting them to the King’s Religion to increase their loyalty to the Crown and the true God.

Farmer: I have settled in my family and am ready to assist the Council. There are Tomato and Apple seeds that need to be planted before they can start being harvested. Tomatoes will take 3 months to grow and apples 1 year. I can be assigned to an agricultural resource to increase it’s production. The longer I stay on a resource, the more specialized I’ll become and the more that will be produced.
Is that population the entire population or that of the non-working population?
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
20 Mar 15 UTC
It is the entire population.
Hellenic Riot (1626 D(G))
20 Mar 15 UTC
I thought there were 1000 colonists? How come that only adds up to 895?
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
21 Mar 15 UTC
The Magistrate apologizes, but he did not know the exact population until he completed the census.

Convoying Question - the roundabout
Let us suppose someone has an army in Yorkshire and a fleet in North Sea. However, the army is beset by enemies in London and Liverpool.
Our army in Yorkshire is going to be pushed out. If we assume the attack will come from London supported by Liverpool... could our army in Yorkshire, convoy through the fleet in North Sea and land again at the newly vacated London?
