Year 1 Month 2
Councilors, the Magistrate has enacted as many tasks as efficiently as possible and updated the Scroll with the newest information of WebDipia.
Magistrate: I have completed a basic census, the results of which can be found in the Scroll.
Captain of the Guard: The Royal Guard have converted the Barrack and it will serve as suitable quarters. We completed a preliminary investigation of the area. The shore where we arrived contains small docks and several fishing boats. As the shore ends, the island elevates quickly to rocky overhangs in either direction. From our preliminary exploration, it does not appear there is another access to the island nearby. Heading up the shore, it is a short hike to the main town. The Town Hall, Barrack, and Granary are located in a large central clearing, surrounded by scattered huts. There is plenty of room for expansion. There are small decentralized wheat fields throughout the town. Further past the town is dense forrest, where the colonists gather most of their lumber. Off in the distance is a sizable mountain. I have sent the Lt of the Guard to explore further with the surveying equipment. I will remain with the rest of the troops to defend the town.
Mason: All structures in the town are made of wood. I am not a carpenter, but I can say there is no visible rot and the structures seem sturdy. I have begun construction of the barn; it shall be completed in one month. The mountain the Captain mentions could be used for collecting stone for building larger structures, but the forrest is dense and would first need to be cleared.
Alchemist: I have observed the colonists. They are hardworking, but disorganized. I am not a proper physician, but there are no signs of starvation. I would suggest more fruit be added to the colonists' diet to increase their health and more meat to increase their strength. I have begun research into agriculture. With an educated population, my research would be more productive.
Missionary: I have observed the colonists. They are good natured and do not seem overly concerned by our presence. Some are excited to see the King’s presence re-established, a few are less pleased, but most are indifferent. The colonists appear to be very communal and appear to be polygamous, which I must remind you is against our faith. I can educate the population so they perform increasingly complicated jobs or I can begin converting them to the King’s Religion to increase their loyalty to the Crown and the true God.
Farmer: I have settled in my family and am ready to assist the Council. There are Tomato and Apple seeds that need to be planted before they can start being harvested. Tomatoes will take 3 months to grow and apples 1 year. I can be assigned to an agricultural resource to increase it’s production. The longer I stay on a resource, the more specialized I’ll become and the more that will be produced.
