So ok I can see how it's a little weird.
Ideally there would not be different expectations between men and women on how we should dress or look.
Right now there are. I go to an interview and I shave and put on a shirt and tie and belt and shiny shoes. A girl wears a blouse and puts on makeup and does her hair and wears heels. To me, that's not right.
Going out on the town is a very very blatant example that really floors me, I could go on and on.
And yeah I know WHY we do it, both the current, cultural and sexual reasons and the historical patriarchal reasons. I'm AWARE, but I just agree. Lol.
So yeah in my ideal world there would just be one clothing store with different sizes. There would be no such thing as a "woman's shirt".
I sense you may also object on the grounds of womens' agency, i.e., why can't they wear stilettos if they want to? They can. I can't stop them. If I ever get asked what I prefer though, I tell the truth - I prefer when you don't wear makeup, etc.
And so this goes for me too. I would grow my hair out to my shoulders for this cause, except that it's too un-normal. I would probably also wear unitards to swim out of solidarity, but don't because it's weird.
I do however shave because this is one area where men make themselves look like women and it's not considered weird.
