Well, I have been both a professor and a mentor in the last SOW games and enjoyed both and would like to offer my two cents again as a professor if you want me (but I can´t commit to a commentary per turn, maybe a commentary per game year should be fine).
Also, I advise you to choose the studentes carefully to have people that (nothing personal, I don´t even look the stats of the current students list).

1) Don´t have many CDs on the record
2) Have player at least a bunch of games (10?) so know at least the basic of each country.
3)Take a compromise to play the whole game to the bitter end, talk with the mentors/TAs and write a EOG at the end of the game.

Is 3 CD's (all of them live games that I needed to leave because I misjudged the timing) too many?

@goldfinger - I would be fine with the TAs as advisors. I just don't want to play in a game where the student stopped listening to his advisor and decided to suicide rather than learn. Last time, we had professors, advisors, and TAs.

Is it ok that I've never played a real game as Austria (I did play a live game that should have been cancelled as only me and Italy showed up)? I've played at least two with every other country.

@Ninja and Emperor - I don´t want to make the rules and neither judge anyone, I was just giving some suggestions for the one´s that want to organize the game (seems goldfinger is the one that will be organizing the game).

I certainly haven't played 10 games, but I have looked through a good number of games to try to get a sense of the challenges and advantages of each country. I hope that's okay.

I don't think your not playing 10 games is an issue. As long as you are committed to sticking with this one, I think you'd be fine. You aren't supposed to have a firm grasp on everything yet. If you did, you'd be a prof, right?

I think that'll be left up to goldfinger. I'm not sure what the procedure was in previous SoW semesters.

Give me a few minutes to eat and catch up on everything....just got back from work. I'll put up a tentative list of students and their TA's. I was planning on starting the game after Independence Day (USA), because most will need pauses during that time. Phase length will be two days, and I will PM one of you to start the game when the time comes.

But please, if there are any others looking at this thread who want to be students come and join! We have almost enough TA's and professors for two games

Alright, i think that is an up to date list, but if there are any mistakes feel free to correct me. But rdrivera is right on several fronts. First of all, I will go through your profiles, and if I have any questions, I will PM you and have you explain any CD's, NMR's, or anything else. Also, you have to play all the way through this game, and be prepared to write an EOG after it wraps up, not just after you're killed, so you may wait a while. My advise is write it as you go, and don't be afraid to write too much. If you dig back in the forums two months or so, you'll find the SoW grad game thread, which has EOG's you can model off of.

You should have your TA assignments as soon as you're all cleared. But other than that, we just have to sit and wait for a week or so before we get started. I will have one of you password protect it and send it out to everyone else. The game will not be anonymous, 2-day phase, and regular chat. Country assignments will just be what you draw, no questions.

Other than that, if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask them! Recruit other volunteers to be students and we can get a 2nd game going, because right now we have more volunteers than students!

rdrivera, if you aren't able to comment each season, you'd still be able to advise a student each season, right?

Goldfinger - I think my GR is so low because a) I only play 2 day plus games, so people make less mistakes; b) my struggle here is to take good starts to the solo; c) I have a strong desire for no-one else to solo; d) the standard here is very good, especially if you select your games well.

My Facebook GR was higher, but the standard here is better. I racked up well over 1000 there as well.

A professor/TA game might be feasible. I'm concerned about my game load -- I'm at five right now with no guarantee that any of them will finish soon. But I'll see if I can't swing another one.
