The rules are pretty clear; I think people can manage to play by a few basic rules without having to be warned when they are obviously breaking them. And KaptinKool was arguing that JonathanDivin and noahjf were breaking the rules by joining games with preset alliances. You can play with your friends, but not join games with preset alliances.

I understand that the rules are clearly stated, but it's a common courtesy to be warned first. How would you like it if you were suddenly banned and not warned as to why? It isn't fair.

It could be interesting if all those who are sticking up for him would vouch for him putting their necks on the line as well although I do not want to tell the mods what to do.

@JD - if he really is repentent, why not just follow stukus' earlier suggestion? why all of the fuss? and why did he bother setting up a second account in the first place?

Alright guys, I'm probably going to regret this, but I'm coming out. I am noahjf/metagamer1. Now since I've tried contacting the mods and got nothing, I'm going to have to defend myself on this forum. Yes, I broke the rules, this I know and accept it was wrong. metagamer1 was an account I never used except for 1 game and to tell the truth I have no idea why I made it because I know I was breaking the rules. The purpose of my thread trolling was to get metagamer1 banned as you all know. Why? Because I wanted that account gone so I wouldn't be accused of having multiple accounts at a later time. I know how I went about doing it was wrong but I never intended to hurt anyone, I just wanted to post it to see if I could get a few wtf's and/or laughs. I now know it was extremely immature and I apologize. Now all I ask for is or the mods and community to give me a second chance.

Like my friends have been saying, I was never contaced by the mods for either account. metagamer1 I can understand them giving no warning because that's the account I committed the crime on. I would've liked to be given at least some warning for noahjf being banned. I got no warning and I sent an e-mail to [email protected] (because that's the e-mail I was told to contact when I logged on with noahjf and was banned) but I got no response.

Now if the mods were to lift the ban I would obviously have two accounts because I now have the account I am posting this message on. Simple solution. Lift ban, get rid of this account. Then I have one accoung (noahjf) and I will never have two accounts again. I apologize to everyone I might of hurt and realize I was a giant asshole. Just please give me a second chance.

And as a side note, I was only in one game with metagamer1, I never mixed both my accounts to gain an advantage.

In the end I know the decision is left to the mods. Alls I can do is apologize and ask for forgiveness/unbanning

...and how fair is it to the players in the games you are playing in with this account to suddenly have it banned? You'd be fucking up even more games and that, dear noahjf, is even more gregious because of your inability to choose and account and your blatant disregard for the rules. So blatant you even created this account after *knowing* that what you did was wrong. Play on with this one and thank the mods for not banning it if they let you, but forget about noahjf. It's toast as it should be for that fucking spam job you did (not metagamer1, but you, the person behind all three accounts)

Like I said above, I apologive to everyone. Agree or disagree, I don't care which, but just know I am sorry. In the end it's up to the mods though, and maybe, just maybe, my defense posted above will sway their decision. If not though, I am fine with that. I will agree with any decision the mods make. If you actually wanted to get the account handled, you could have contacted the mods and gotten your second account deleted without anybody but you and the mods knowing.

Which I don't believe for a second. You remind me of the guys I knew in the Navy who were stupid and couldn't resist smoking pot. They'd claim afterward that they just wanted to get out of the Navy, and that's why they lit up. Ignoring the fact that if you really want to get out of the service, there are a lot better ways to do it that don't eff up your life afterward.

Long story short, I was born at night, friend. But it wasn't last night. Keep the ban, and lay the ban on his new one. The community is better of without him, I think.

@TheGhostmaker - Yes, I NEVER intend to do it again, and I NEVER intended for what I thought to be something harmless to grow into such contreversey. I never had bad intentions, I just did something stupid and I hope everyone will accept my apology. I still ask for a second chance with noahjf, if the mods be willing. If not, I support any decision made. If the ban is not lifted I will continue using this account, but please know I NEVER plan to cause havoc on this sever again

JD, considering the gross number of games you've played with the noah profile, you raise your own suspicions.

Basically backs up my point that you're a punk who can't win on their own, or you've got some deep-seated antisocial disorders. And like most of those types, when you're caught, you turn all apologetic and begging that you've learned your lesson... all the while laughing at the people who actually have sympathy for you.

As for metagiming suspicions between me and JD, we've been acussed before, and worked out the issue with the mods. A lot of the games we were in together we were there because our school has a diplomacy club where a bunch of our friends play together

And to add to my last message the games we play with our friends were private and just included our friends, not ousiders that we would use to metagame

Why do you want the noah account back so badly? Why not just keep this one? It seems much easier and it might do you good to get a fresh start instead of wanting the old account and all of its negative attributes now.

I'll give him crtedit for the apology, but he should just play on with the new account. Having it banned fucks up two more games. Losing any ranking he might or might not have had is punishment fit to the crime AFAIC.

@JonathanDivin - thank you for the touching response. If you had read the previous post I was merely emphasizing why you should perhaps be the absolute last person to be commenting on noahjf's banishment.

The Ghostmaker has spoken. The situation is settled. This is the end. Sorry to all who were offended by this forum. Surely nothing like this will ever happen again. May we all leave this issue in peace and return to the fun and joy of Diplomacy. I thank The Ghostmaker for his time in this dispute and all others who input their advice. I think Ghost has it right.
If his concern is about his old account and all his points, then I don't beleive his appology.
If he's sincere about being sorry, then his concern is whether he is able to play Dip (here, with his friends) or not. He can do so with this new account, and accept that the loss of the old one as fitting punishment.

And if we agree that the lost points etc are punishment, then there is no need to drag it out any longer. We can all move on.


As for meta with JD (or others) If there is no indication of poor sportsmanship, I don't think it should be an issue. I would LOVE to get more of my fiends on here, and I'd certainly have many games recorded with them. There'd be no advantage that's for sure. I'd try my best to kick thier ass :)

I think he should make a brand new account that only he and the mods will know him by. Obviously he has learned his lesson and won't try it again.
