Germany has asked why Russia should be allowed into Sweden. The reason is simple. To improve relations that are steadily eroding as a result of aggressive dialogue by Germany and its fellow provocateur Austria. Who in fact are the real threat here? Who have been most vocal in attempting to manipulate others to serve their own ends. The answer seems obvious to Russia.

Russia will not be led around by the nose by Austria. Now you are suggesting backroom deals between Turkey and Russia. There have been no private messages between Turkey and Russia, as is the etiquette in Public Press Diplomacy. All messages have been posted in the public forum for all the world to see. Czar Samo does state, however, that Austria's overt hostility towards Russia will not go unchallenged. As a result Russia formally declares war upon Austria. Austria would be wise to defend herself and stop spinning her wheels with her misleading diatribe.

And what kind of relationship does Austria have with Germany that it so freely speaks for her? Why should Russia state what it intends or does not intend to do. With the current state of affairs it is difficult make any long term plans for anything, am I wrong? As for more immediate plans, Czar Samo has expressed Russia's intention to knock Austria back a few pegs.

Austria, terms like Juggernaut and Anschluss suggest 2 nations acting as one army. The terms lose significant meaning in the Wilson/Gunboat variation. You have protested too much and your tone is like a nagging wife or spoiled child.

Many players have said that in the Opening Austria and Germany should be played as if they were one nation. It is only in our best interests that we look out for one another. The point is that a strong Russia kills Germany, and a strong Juggernaut kills everyone.

So the inevitable declaration of war has happened. Now there is no doubting that there is a Juggernaut.

The Wilson variant just means that everyone knows the alliance structure. The strategy and tactics alter very slightly only.

As for Russia-Turkey, its quite possible that Austria forced them together by crying wolf too early. However, they are together now it seems. Regardless, I don't really want to get involved at the moment, I will simply bounce Russia in sweden and then see how it goes with England on who eventually gets that territory.

Inconsistent? It's true that I have missed much of the first turn, but you can't deny that I followed through with exactly what I said I was going to do. I'd be happy to vacate the Channel shortly - my moves were not intended to be aggressive. I would like to point out that the Pontiff haven't declared war on *anyone*; I simply pointed out that I must inevitably act to support Austria against a combination of Russia and Turkey, as the Italians would be the next to fall. I believe the difference is subtle yet profound.

Chancellor....perhaps I have overreacted my overreaction. First, I agree that you haven't declared Anschluss. This is true. Russia and I haven't declared an alliance. Russia and I, as I have said repeatedly, made a border agreement which every other nation is clearly in their right to do with their neighbors. Austria cries "Juggernaut". You were the first in Europe to respond to that cry with your business model of incentives....which had no other purpose than to destabilize my border. Not only my border but the borders of your immediate neighbors. France enters late into the turn and sees that you have "incentivized" the Channel...so he enters it for defensive purposes because of the lateness of the hour.
