Why? It's not Diplomacy. Plus, it would weaken Germany, England and Russia a lot.

also, it doesnt have nearly enough in between spaces, every country gets 6 spaces (3 of which are supply centers, except Russia, who gets 4).

But I think someone mentioned the variant of Crowded, or something like that, which sounded interesting.

But, no Scandinavian power in diplomacy, it just wasnt meant to be :(

what?? get a long list of names then kestas will just nod his head say "yes sir" and go and change the diplomacy map?
1, you wont get a long list of names and 2 this is a open sourced site that kestas runs on a non paid kindness of his heart deal.

but as an variation map it sounds like fun. but it needs a lot of work to write up the php code. if you are interested in making a variation map then please go ahead.

I think Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily should be a country. But that idea never really took off either.

I don't see why diplomat 1824 can't have a Scandinavian variant - however, I'm not sure this is the site for it.

There are lots of variants on diplomacy including the one diplomat suggested, but this site just has traditional diplomacy. Kestas probably has a list of "things to do" but variants, I am pretty sure, would be well down the list of priorities.

the only significant fighting that came from scandinavian countries were the vikings and then the swedish in the 30 years war and then the war featuring denmark vs. austria/prussia for schleswig/holstein

other than that i dont recall them being a significant force in any comflict so i honestly dont see a reason for there to be a scandinavia faction when they didnt even play much of a role in WWI anyway

Forget Scandinavia, make Switzerland, Ireland, Iceland, Montenegro, Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Monaco, and Goust playable. Then we'd have a game!

I'd be more in favor of making Switzerland an occupiable space, but only in a variation, were they ever introduced here.

That'd probably help out Italy quite a bit (much needed) as his forces would not get caught up in Piedmont without support while attacking France.

Just for interest, if it was made a space...what if it was an SC?

Making Switzerland an SC would change the openings and relations between France, Germany, and Italy considerably.

Goust? Never heard of that before today Invictus. Unfortunately Ireland and Iceland weren't independent from Britain and Denmark (respectfully) in 1900, so that'd be even sillier than this topic.

Question

If I am moving from Warsaw to Moscow, being supported by Ukraine, and there are two other armies who are moving into Moscow from St. Petersburg and Sevastopol, what happens?(The two armies in St. P and Sevastopol are NOT supporting each other, just moving into Moscow)

Man attacked by Panda

Every year it seems there are numerous stories about people in zoos climbing over fences and moats to get at the animals and than attacked by the animal. In parks people try to feed or pet wild animals with the same results. Than there are cases of domesticated animals being teased till the animal finds a way to get at the person. These events are in the news, signs are posted etc. What the hell are these people thinking! To many Disney Movies? What?

Removing /commands from chat

I think that any line sent in the global chat that starts with a "/" should not be shown in the text. Obviously it will be parsed as a command, and if it is a valid command then the text is not needed as a Gamemaster message is sent instead. As it is, the system gets rather messy as you get lots of lines just saying /pause followed by the system response.

EOG statement - "UN variant"

EOG statement for the “UN variant” game (http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=5933). The game is based on the idea that treaties can be published in global tab, and in that case they are “enforceable” by the UN (i.e.: if they are broken the guilty player will be sanctioned).

GFTD - Where the games to be WTA or PPSC?

Not that it makes a real difference, as the pot is 5 and the idea is to have the scores calculated by the llama, anyhow. Yet... there was an indication to follow or was it free for us to choose? (I ask since my 2 games are one WTA and one PPSC...)
