GoT Variant?
I recently started watching Game of Thrones, and as you can imagine it reminded me of this wretched game quite a bit. Has anyone thought of making a variant based on Westeros? Does one already exist?

Bernie Sanders kicked out of hippie commune for laziness
http://freebeacon.com/politics/bernie-sanders-asked-leave-hippie-commune/

Raises the question in my mind of what will be done (if anything) with people who refuse to work in the socialist society Bernie and his supporters wish to impose. Forced labor camps? Expulsion from the country? Revocation of their EBT card and Section 8 subsidies? Or nothing?

The Trump Effect
Recently I've been hearing several left leaning souls start talking about the likelihood of them voting Trump now that the Bern has been all but extinguished. What I am curious about is why. What is it about Trump that makes him the lesser of two evils?

I love you guys. "Demon you're so stupid, childish and blind!!!... except you're right about that last thing" and sorry Chaqa, but in my experience with webdip about 98 percent of you are white guys.

And damn that last comment is so silly I can't even engage with it.

Also I find it hard to take it seriously when you disregard issues such as xenophobia and sexism as "you're just playing cards" when these are important fucking things that impact many lives.

Okay I think I've concluded from this discussion that none of you have any idea where your actual political stances are, only that they're not with Hillary.

"I was a huge Rand Paul supporter. I'm a fan of Bernie too."

I support Nuclear disarmament. And building more Nukes.

I support ending the crisus in Ukraine. I also support Russia's right to reclaim Ukraine.

I think Slavery shouldnt have been abolished. I am glad the North won the Civil war.

I am a Democrat. I support Ted Cruze, hes our best bet.

I am vegeterian. I do eat bacon however because mmm bacon.

I am a Bernie supporter. I like his policies and identify with the ideas he espouses. However I also like Donald Trump and Rand Pauls policies too. You might call that schizophrenic. What can I say thats me... crazy ole bb.

I support the Iran Nuclear deal. I also support nuking Iran!

See here is my issue with Trump; because he is playing a game and saying whatever needs to be said to get into office (and yes I know it is just an exaggeration of what poltics is already) I don;t know what Trump he will be as president. Will he spend the first 4 years as the misogynistic, fear mongering, anti-trade fascist or will he revert back to his very liberal opinions expressed over the past 20 years. I just don't know. At-least with Hillary she may be saying whatever she wants to get in but there is a margin of error in which she will operate; she will continue to fight for women rights, probably drop all the wall street stuff, and then focus entirely on foreign policy and economic conservatism. Hillary is a libertarian in the democratic party; and that will show when she gets elected. But is that really worse than not knowing if you'll have an extremist fascist or a liberal?
Chaqa (3971 D(B))

@Vash: different issues for each of them. I like Bernie's honesty and views on healthcare. However, I disagree with him on things like free college and various other issues. I like Rand Paul for his personal freedoms stances and for decreasing military spending and being more defensive/diplomatic.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))

Personally I guess im closest to a libertarian; liberal social policies and conservative economic policies.... only thing is I believe in a bit of socialism as well..... no good candidates for that type of scatter shot policies.

A bit of a news flash, but it is very hard to say you support directly contradictory things (like socialism and conservative economic policy) and be taken seriously by the majority of people. I guess whatever politician you're looking for will be loved on webdip though.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
27 Apr 16 UTC
I don't support socialism or extreme conservative policy. It's more that they both have policies I like and ones I dislike, but overall they're both decent. Bernie is a bit too liberal for me on many things, and Rand Paul is a bit too conservative on a lot of issues, but I think they're both miles ahead of the likes of Clinton, JEB!, Cruz, etc.

If you support Trump you openly admit you hate all muslims, and mexicans.

You also support raising the cost of all chinese made goods because Trump supports a sweeping 40% tariff on China. Enjoy paying more money for things.

CB: I'm an independent who borrows ideas from all the political parties. Every politician has views that I like and dislike so I'll generally vote for the person who I think will do the best job as President. As it stands now I'll prob vote for Johnson.

Trump is absolutely a modern day Teddy Roosevelt. He would expand America and build many things. You have to ask yourself what kind of America you want. Personally our Military needs to be cut. We cant afford to elect Trump because he has proven through use of imminent domain laws a sense of entitlement. I see no reason why Trump would be peaceful.

For example Trump claims Mexico will build us a wall. How? Is the implication that Trump would occupy the regions owned by the Zeta cartel with force? I could actually see Trump annexing Northern Mexico and forcing locals to build the wall.

In regards to his position on ISIS he plays soft. His policy on ISIS is coalition building. How odd. We already have that...

For the closed-minded, my general political views:
- Pro 2nd Amendment
- Universal healthcare
- Legalize marijuana and lower penalties for just using drugs
- Passive foreign policy
- Voting reform (change electoral system)
- Pro-gay-marriage
- Lower taxes for average person
- Restore privacy rights

In no general order

I don't get how Trump is still even in consideration. Politicians fall into several categories: those with misguided policies that I'd still be friends with, those with decent policy ideas that I'd be friends with, those with decent policy ideas that I don't think are nice people, and those with some outrageous policy ideas that are also bad people. Trump falls under the last category. Trying to use government power to kick a widow out of her home so you have more space for your limos means you're a bad person. I'd really hate to see someone like him with even more power.
Clinton is a bad person too, but I don't think 4 more years of the establishment will destroy the country.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))

conservative economic ideas: light business regulations, not raising the minimum wage, Taxes on foreign imports, tax breaks for corporations that stay in the US. \

Socialist ideas: Federal Healthcare system, Federal Electric and water companies. I believe in regards to electricity, water, and healthcare the government should maintain and distribute.

So the core of the two terms Conservative and Socialist are very much at odds, but many individual policies can be shared.

Agreed with Byron on a lot of stuff. The way he described himself politically sounds a lot like me.
The terms "left wing" and "right wing" are really dumb terms in my opinion. You don't have to be all in for one or the other.

Y'all are crazy.

I can't stand Hillary. I think she's a corporate schill. I think her foreign policy is attrotious. I think she's far from where I'd like a Democrat to be on most of the issues that matter to me. I'll still be voting for her in November.

Donald Trump is an angry manchild with no self control and even less consistency or honesty than the woman we like to point out used to hate the gays and support Barry Goldwater. You think he isn't actually racist, just putting on a show to get votes? Leaving aside for a second why you'd have any faith in that, is that really the type of guy you want in charge of your country? Are you willing to roll the dice on everything being an act just to see a Hillary-free presidency? Do you You think a guy who's declared bankruptcy several times is capable of running a *country*?

Fuck, I'm sad Bernie lost too. He seemed like a breath of fresh air and potential for real change. He lost, and it sucks, but it's your job to make an objective choice on the options you do have, and in no way is that rational choice Donald fucking Trump. If you don't like the system, work to change it. Try again with the next Bernie that comes along, and in the meantime start working to get people elected to smaller offices, because that's where change is most easily attainable. Don't get mad and vote for a psychopath, and don't encourage a write-in campaign you know will accomplish the exact same thing.

$hillary is the worst, trump is fucked but at least he's not her. He will work for his constituency, even if they want fucked up things, $hillary will work for nobody but herself and those who throw money at her.

It sucks that Elizabeth Warren didn't run against her, she would have had a better chance than Bernie did.

I think Trump winning is better for progressivism. It will make people pissed, it might make the good change happen quicker. One step backwards to make two forward an all that.

Plus Putin's point. Hillary wants to destroy the world - see Honduras, Libya, Middle East, etc.

There is nothing good about Hillary whatsoever.

Yes, I'm no great lover of partisanship either. Replace Democrat with "left leaning politician" or just "politician" or even "person". That's clearly not the point.
Lethologica (203 D)

The people talking about how electing Trump will light a fire under progressives and start the movement for Real Change can go to Italy and ask them how Sylvia Berlusconi got elected again and again and again despite everyone thinking he was a joke. The people clamoring about how a nation needs borders and illegal immigration needs to be stopped can go look at the net illegal immigration and new illegal immigrant numbers since Obama took office. The people who think Trump's a true strongman who won't be swayed by corporate interests and corruption: you're delusional. You want Trump over Clinton for their respective foreign policy and trade positions, fine, but don't dress up your vote with absurdities.
leon1122 (190 D)
27 Apr 16 UTC
Leth, clearly not everyone thought she was a joke if she kept getting elected but rather you interact with a biased sample of the Italian population.

Trump is the common sense candidate, and people who don't get their first pick will vote for him, no matter how much Democrats want us to forget about that peculiar human instinct.
Putin33 (111 D)
27 Apr 16 UTC
@ghug

That's your choice. I understand voting against Trump. I'm not voting for him "because I'm mad". I'm voting for him because his foreign policy is objectively better than hers, and it's not even close. The world cannot endure another GW Bush style militarist as president.
Putin33 (111 D)
27 Apr 16 UTC
Most of the criticisms I see are a matter of style, not substance. Yes, Trump behaves like a buffoon and his supporters are frightening. But at the end of the day acting like a buffoon won't get Gazans killed or democratically elected governments overthrown.
Lethologica (203 D)

Oh, shut up, leon, you obviously don't even know who I'm talking about. (Hint: google "Sylvia Berlusconi gender".)

Just a basic question!
What does voting to 'Cancel' mean? what do you cancel when you vote for it?
And, how does Pause work? when you pause, how do you resume the game? is it paused for a specific amount of time or do you vote to un-pause later?

First Time Prom.
Help me WebDip, you're my only hope.

Seriously, though, I am a male junior, and found out today that the person on my mind has me on hers. Prom is in 2 weeks. I have not asked her, and fear that the window has shut on this opportunity. Even if I did go (all my buddies want me to go) I would have no idea what to do, what to say, or where to go.
