Results of Ukraine-Referendum in The Netherlands.
A referendum was held about the pending association treaty between the EU and Ukraine. My country is the only country that hasn't agreed yet, because of a referendum with the unofficial outcome: "no" to the treaty. Some 32% voter turnout.
I voted "yes" and the general thought is that many people voted "no" against the EU in general, with Ukraine as collateral.
Thoughts?

Currently Mexico is mainly aligned with US. When it comes to media, it means that if you have hope of getting unbiased info, you must turn off the tv and try and search the info somewhere else (I'd reccomend you do the same, btw, regardless of the situation in Sweden). Yes there are media that are not aligned with gov., but they are minority, tend to be small and only some people have access to them. When it comes to tv. it's just false that "many voices are allowed".
Hellenic Riot (1626 D(G))

On the bright side, principians, you might have a few more voices around when you pay for that big wall on the border that you're building for Trump in a few months. ;)
principians (881 D)
07 Apr 16 UTC
lol, in Mexico every single person KNOWS that NO ONE is gonna give any singly coin to build any wall. Even if Trump wins, that just won't happen :)

I think here no one seriously believes Trump wins, anyway. But... yeah the trumpy thing is putting things a bit not so ... terse, you'd say. Would not be the first time there are 'tensions' but still mex gov keeps mainly aligned... ad so things would be... unless it turns up Trump is really CRAZY (in which case us citizens should worry first)

Mexico should be more worried about American oil companies getting their grubby hands on privatized Pemex than Trump's wall.

No I don't believe that that maniac (Trump) standard a chance against against any of the 2 democratic party candidates. You know I am so indoctrinated by NATO propaganda so I actually believe in the smartness of USA electorate. :)

Obviously it doesn't work as the old fascist or communist school. But that does not stop media from manipulating, taking things out of context, and managing money, time, space and 'analysis' as it fits them best. I may have not accessed swedish media, but I have certainly accessed US media. I've seen the kind of thing they tend to do when it comes to delicate subjects. But go along, and keep eating whatever you see on your tv.

Viktor Yanukovych may have been democratically elected but that is all. He was certainly not any democrat himself. First thing he did was to put the opposition into prison. That you basically never do.

Yanukovych was instead the Russian dictator Putin's puppet and a tool for Putin's newly refound imperialist agenda not any longer representing the people of Ukraine.

The Maidan revolt was thus legitimate and that is why most of us in the EU try to support Ukraine.
leon1122 (190 D)

No revolt in a truly democratic country is legitimate. Obviously, the majority of Ukrainian people want a "Putin puppet" as you put it.
peterlund (1310 D(G))

@leon1122 So you label Ukraine under the rule of Viktor Yanukovych a "truly democratic country". Is this a joke for your next stand-up comedy performance? :)

"Viktor Yanukovych may have been democratically elected but that is all. He was certainly not any democrat himself. First thing he did was to put the opposition into prison. That you basically never do. "

Right that's why the Maidan rallies were allowed to happen because the opposition was in prison. It's breathtaking the way you hand wave away a coup and then make ridiculous claims about the democratic government "locking up opposition" when the main square in Kiev was crawling with opposition, holding hands with politicians from all over the EU. The EU has never given a damn about the Ukrainian constitution. The Orange Revolutionaries had an unconstitutional repeat election in 2004 which isn't authorized anywhere in the constitution. But whenever the putschists lose, they cry fraud and/or wage violence against the elected government.

Let's talk about those democrats in Kiev shutting down opposition media, shall we? Let's talk about them outright banning the Communist Party of Ukraine (after they firebombed their HQ)? Apparently firebombing buildings is permissible in democratic Sweden's eyes. What about their torching the trade union hq in Odessa with people in it, murdering dozens? Oh that's right according to NATO they set fire to themselves, right?

It's hilarious you consider Yanukovych a tool when you're supporting an out and out coup in Ukraine right now. You have actual Americans in the Ukrainian government now like Natalie Jaresko. You have Joe Biden literally chairing meetings of the Ukrainian cabinet. You have Saakashvili, the other NATO favorite, the butcher of South Ossetia, as a governor in Odessa.

If Yanukovich was a Putin puppet why did he repeatedly say he wanted closer ties with the EU? But that wasn't good enough, was it? Anything short of complete vassaldom to the EU meant certain death for Ukraine. Yanukovych simply saying he needed time to think about the agreement and make some changes because Ukraine was also a member of the CIS free trade area ,was the pretext you used for setting fire to Ukraine via Maidan. And what was their reward? Now the EU says Ukraine will take at least 20-25 years to become part of Europe. Ukraine was sold a pack of lies. Europe is worse than GW Bush.

"The Maidan revolt was thus legitimate and that is why most of us in the EU try to support Ukraine.
"

There you have it folks. Assassinations via snipers and coups are legitimate in "democratic" Sweden's eyes.

The EU supports Ukraine by forcing them into a corner of breaking off trade ties with Russia and then turns their back on them as civil war breaks out, saying they won't be part of Europe for decades. That's what "EU support" looks like.
Putin33 (111 D)

"Is this a joke for your next stand-up comedy performance? :)"

You lecturing people about democracy while supporting a violent coup is the joke. Except it's not at all funny.

Peterlund, I know you can't tolerate free speech but what do you think of your boy Yatsenyuk's claim that the Soviet Union was the aggressor against Germany in WWII? Does that comport with your hateful anti-Russian views?

Peterlund, how come trade has not grown between Ukraine and Europe despite Europe unilaterally eliminating customs duties with your new friends? Do you think the Ukrainian people have benefited from your sabotage of their economy as your puppets in Kiev cut trade ties with the country that has always supported them economically while tying them to people who want nothing to do with them?
peterlund (1310 D(G))

The real story behind the Russian propaganda against Maidan is that the dictator in Moscow got scared as hell. The Russians may follow the Maidan example and overthrow him as well.

So now a plan was urgently needed. First throw in the nationalist card, by starting a war. Invade Crimea with badly disguised Russian troops. The nationalist card is always effective.

But Putin was not feeling secure enough still. The war is also a good excuse to harass, enprison or even kill oppositional people. All Russians see what is happening and got scared (as anyone would). No-one dares to oppose. A Russian Maidan is impossible.

Now at last Putin does not need to worry any longer. Everyone knows who the indisputable Ruler is!
Putin33 (111 D)
07 Apr 16 UTC
No your pathetic color revolution in Russia failed. You shouldn't tip your hand so obviously although everybody in the world knows you NATO thugs are trying to orchestrate a coup, your odes to "democracy" and "free elections" being a farce of the first order. You should really stop simultaneously using the word "dictator" while you're lavishing praise on violent coup governments that cluster bomb their own people.

Yanukovych did everything you fascists wanted. He ordered early parliamentary elections, early presidential elections, restored the bogus putschist 2004 constitution in full, withdrew the police from the cauldron that was Maidan, and you fascists still overthrew him. Who was scared again? You couldn't even tolerate Ukraine making *amendments* to the EU association agreement, an agreement you had no intention of committing to in the first place.

Can I ask an honest question to Putin? Do you actually believe a single word you are saying? I find it hard to believe that you staunchly support a gangster (Putin) who is about to institute bands of paramilitary thugs to quash opposition, while simultaneously trashing the "fascists" in Europe and the United States who participate (generally, and far more frequently than Russia) in actually free and fair elections - even if we are sometimes mystified and dismayed by the results (example: Trump being a front-runner in a national election). It seems like your positions are so completely at odds with reality that I find it difficult to believe that anything you say is more than just inflammatory crap intended to get a rise out of others.

I find the whole mute feature kind of ridiculous. I hate to agree with Putin on anything, but I don't think it is a good idea to mute someone because you think what they have to say is garbage. I mean, if you're so convinced of your own knowledge that there is no possibility you might be wrong, why you don't amaze us with your wisdom?

The Right to Bear Arms - A Repudiation
So it turns out that the right to bear arms was actually only intended insofar as the usage by paramilitary militia groups in the event of a prolonged and protracted occupation by an enemy. The modern day interpretation of our gun laws is a fallacy perpetrated by the gun lobby to keep people dying, and keep their coffers flowing.

Is there a place for Diplomacy statistics?
I've been casually reading through Richard Sharp's "The Game of Diplomacy" and he keeps referencing statistics he got from somewhere. I know the book is very dated but I was curious as to if there was still somewhere I could find these statistics and if they've been kept up to date.

Is it possible to have exactly one electron sent through an electric circuit somehow?
What I ideally want is two power sources which send one electron each at the same time into one single electric circuit, observing which route is taken (indirectly).
Thoughts on whether this is possible? Thoughts on how to do this?

How statistically possible is it to only get France or Turkey when you play on classic?
Throughout my 20 or so games that I have played, I have been France and Turkey a disproportionate amount of times. I'm not complaining, it just seems weird. In 2 recent games that just started, I drew Turkey in one, and France in another.

She is moderately attractive, and plays board games. She is very close to my age and is a soil scientist.
