The Religious State
Having seen many opinions on this forum, I am wondering about the acceptability of a religious state. Should a state be able to be primarily Muslim, Jewish, or Christian (etc.)? Is this acceptable in the modern world? If so, how far can this theocracy of sorts go? May they make laws based upon the respective religion? How far reaching should these laws be?

Please discuss, and remain amicable.

Happy Easter everyone
On this auspicious day I would like to share with the community my belief that the resurrection of Jesus was figurative, and not literal. The "risen" Jesus is the one that won the greatest person in history tournament. Respectfully, that's what I believe. He is risen, risen indeed.

What's the difference between vdiplomacy and webdiplomacy?
I've recently been to the vdiplomacy site and it was very interesting that the interface and logo look similar to the webdiplomacy one. Are the 2 sites somehow related?

I uploaded SunZi's "Little Dipper" Android application to Aptoide
Our very own SunZi (userID=19506) once created a useful Android app Diplomacy adjudicator based on webDiplomacy code. SunZi publically published this adjudicator app ("Little Dipper") on GetJar, where it is still free to download.

For the sake of archiving SunZi's work, which our comrade gave the bare minimum of advertising (threadID=879472 & threadID=882356), I uploaded the app to Aptoide.

What to do?
What do you do when you're playing with an asshole that has the chance to draw, but refuses to do so when it is obvious that another player is going to get a solo? He's so annoying it hurts I really don't know what to do I mean it's obvious that if we continue the game will be a solo for another guy. He simply REFUSES TO DRAW

Captain: Councilor Vashta, I suggest you and the other Councilors remain in the Town Hall where it is safe until we are more familiar with the island. Surely one of your advisors can be trusted to such a task?

Missionary: Councilor Vashta, I will gladly take some supplies and act as an envoy of the Council

TrPrado (461 D)

As well as observe their customs, the missionary should act as a teacher. This is not necessarily a spiritual task, but it would be if the colonists were open to it.

@Vash ... I am happy to go with you and a few others with adequate Guard defense and engage with the natives as well. Despite the magistrate's annoucement, I fully support you in this.
Ay, I feel plenty safe between my guard dog and dagger, but you missionary appear to be better at teaching than I, despite my education. Please take some of the writing supplies and the encyclopedia during your journey, though I would much rather experience the villagers firsthand.

**So, to save us all some time: If I have to keep track of what all 16 of you are doing, I could very well die. Let the advisors do the work for you. I would spend my time giving the advisors tasks and the items to do them and managing what resources are being collected and less time worried about what you personally are doing**

Have the Magistrate perform a basic census
Have the Royal Guard dispatch investigate the Town and Surrounding Area
Have the Royal Guard prepare the Barrack for living

Assign Writing Supplies and Encyclopedia to Missionary
Have the Missionary teach the colonists

I don't feel that that is effective governing, abge. We should at least be on the safer side of the front lines if only to demonstrate that we are investing our lives as much as anyone. It gains favor and respect, and may well come back to benefit us. If it is unsafe, we have the Guard and can return here, but we have no indication that the natives won't be welcoming to people like us that they are already familiar with. In fact, I imagine they would welcome us with open arms as long as we have approval from their elders, which I think we should send a unit of lightly armed men and a few advisors to get for us.

I would be in favour of the Alchemist teaching us first. After all, if we can personally help villagers through their ailments, they are certain to respect and like us more.

I maintain that we should be teaching our own (ourselves included) before letting our skilled workers out of our compound, farmer included.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

At the very least, have the farmer document how to partake in his line of work after he is escorted by the Guard to his new home.

These people are farming their own crops already. We don't need to teach them agriculture.

Farmer: Councilor Riot, perhaps with our new farming equipment and seeds, I can help the colonists farm more efficiently.

That would be ideal. We'd like their help growing the crops we brought.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Exactly, abge. We should have them teach us foreigners so that we can all step into a role if necessary.

**So, again, I feel there is some confusion. Perhaps this is my fault for not explaining clearer, although going into this, it was not apparent exactly how it would work. This is a nation building game, not an RPG (which was discussed in the original thread). You guys have some very clear parameters you can manipulate: How many resources you are collecting. Some of your advisors don't have tasks and you have idle workers. There are 16 of you and 1000 colonists. I can not GM such a large population at the granularity some of you want. Focus on resource management and making policies. Use the advisors to get the information you need about the island.**

Wait, I just realized, Vash has a dagger? How did he get that here? I thought this was not permitted? This is somewhat threatening.

I previously brought up the idle worker, but everyone ignored me. I say he should be collecting pearls. We need to ramp up production. The mason should begin surveying infrastructure that already exists to see if anything needs fixing up.

**Yes, those are the types of things you should be doing**

Tasks:
Have the Magistrate perform a basic census
Have the Royal Guard dispatch investigate the Town and Surrounding Area
Have the Royal Guard prepare the Barrack for living
Have the Farmer settle his family into his new home
Have the Missionary observe the colonists
Assign Writing Supplies and Encyclopedia to Missionary

Assign Farming Supplies, Seeds, and Chickens to Farmer
Have the Farmer observe resource management
Assign Idle worker to Pearl farming
Have the Mason inspect buildings

The Magistrate reminds the Council that there are many items that can be given to advisors or workers to help them with their tasks.

Is there any large, otherwise unused building we could use as a barn, magistrate?
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
20 Mar 15 UTC
Magistrate: There is a small granary, but it is currently being used to process and store wheat.

Mason: I could build a small barn with the wood already stored and 5 workers.

Convoying Question - the roundabout
Let us suppose someone has an army in Yorkshire and a fleet in North Sea. However, the army is beset by enemies in London and Liverpool.
Our army in Yorkshire is going to be pushed out. If we assume the attack will come from London supported by Liverpool... could our army in Yorkshire, convoy through the fleet in North Sea and land again at the newly vacated London?
