The Religious State
Having seen many opinions on this forum, I am wondering about the acceptability of a religious state. Should a state be able to be primarily Muslim, Jewish, or Christian (etc.)? Is this acceptable in the modern world? If so, how far can this theocracy of sorts go? May they make laws based upon the respective religion? How far reaching should these laws be?

Please discuss, and remain amicable.

Happy Easter everyone
On this auspicious day I would like to share with the community my belief that the resurrection of Jesus was figurative, and not literal. The "risen" Jesus is the one that won the greatest person in history tournament. Respectfully, that's what I believe. He is risen, risen indeed.

What's the difference between vdiplomacy and webdiplomacy?
I've recently been to the vdiplomacy site and it was very interesting that the interface and logo look similar to the webdiplomacy one. Are the 2 sites somehow related?

K so I've been wanting to create a variation of diplomacy for some time now but haven't been able to think of anything. I wanted it to actually be different than regular diplomacy to change it up a bit. And i finally got it. I give you.. saboteur diplomacy!

I uploaded SunZi's "Little Dipper" Android application to Aptoide
Our very own SunZi (userID=19506) once created a useful Android app Diplomacy adjudicator based on webDiplomacy code. SunZi publically published this adjudicator app ("Little Dipper") on GetJar, where it is still free to download.

For the sake of archiving SunZi's work, which our comrade gave the bare minimum of advertising (threadID=879472 & threadID=882356), I uploaded the app to Aptoide.

What to do?
What do you do when you're playing with an asshole that has the chance to draw, but refuses to do so when it is obvious that another player is going to get a solo? He's so annoying it hurts I really don't know what to do I mean it's obvious that if we continue the game will be a solo for another guy. He simply REFUSES TO DRAW

We have our own medical equipment which he can use, CB.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
19 Mar 15 UTC
Okay, in that case, we should chop him into pieces and use him as fishing bait once he dies.
Lanium (100 D)
19 Mar 15 UTC
I'm with CB- let's throw the physician overboard. What do we need him for when we have an Alchemist? One less mouth to feed!

And you're campaigning for HC...
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
19 Mar 15 UTC
The Captain reminds you that the Councilors have medical supplies packed in the hold.
Wtf CB.
Just. No.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
19 Mar 15 UTC
Okay, I am campaigning yes, but come on tell me that wouldn't be the best logistical thing to do. I don't care what we do with him once he is dead. As long as we don't go out of our way to keep a dying man alive when we have others to feed, including children.
Hellenic Riot (1626 D(G))

The captain told us we had plenty supplies for the trip. We need to teach the natives Civilization, not impress them with Barbarism.
Lanium (100 D)

Wow, I thought CB was joking at first. A little disturbing that he isn't...
Hamilton Brian (811 D(B))

I was going to suggest pitching him over as well, but I felt it was too early to descend to such coarse reactions and behaviours.
TrPrado (461 D)

The alchemist isn't trained in the medical ways as much as the physician is. If we lose the physician, we have to hope that we're lucky enough to actually have someone on the island that can take care of us medically.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
19 Mar 15 UTC
Yes, plenty for the trip. What about once we arrive on the island? Like I said, if he is dying we shouldn't expend any extra resources to keep him alive, but we should do our best. If he dies Idc what we do with the body.
mendax (321 D)
19 Mar 15 UTC
Right, and we're just magically going to be able to know for sure whether he's dying for ertain or just seriously ill (but recoverable)
Hamilton Brian (811 D(B))
19 Mar 15 UTC
@TrPrado, I agree. The skill set is different. Let's hope he pulls through and the Alchemist can come up with an appropriate tonic.
TrPrado (461 D)
19 Mar 15 UTC
It was our decision to bring the physician along, it's our job to make sure he makes it to the island.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
19 Mar 15 UTC
@lanium- The chopping him up part was a joke. I do not think we should keep a dying man alive. That boils down to moral questions. If the physician can't do his job then he would be a mouth to feed with no value. I think the alchemist should do what he can, but if he can't get him well enough to be of use to our expedition then we should consider minimal aid to him until he peacefully dies of his age.

Can the physician diagnose himself? He is likely the most qualified on board to do so... it's worth getting his opinion.

So now he is dead. Would the missionary like to make a suggestion as to how his burial should take place? I would like to know if a burial at sea is within happening, as a burial at sea will remove his body from the ship maintaining the overall health of the ship.
Hamilton Brian (811 D(B))
19 Mar 15 UTC
Ah, cripes. May the Physician have mercy on his soul.

@CB, thanks for the link
TrPrado (461 D)
19 Mar 15 UTC
Was it of his ailment? Did the alchemist not provide a concoction at all? What was in it?
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
19 Mar 15 UTC
@Hamilton, no problem.
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
19 Mar 15 UTC
The Captain assures the Councilors the Missionary can make all appropriate accommodations.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
19 Mar 15 UTC
Captain would a burial at sea be considered respectful by the missionary's standards?

Convoying Question - the roundabout
Let us suppose someone has an army in Yorkshire and a fleet in North Sea. However, the army is beset by enemies in London and Liverpool.
Our army in Yorkshire is going to be pushed out. If we assume the attack will come from London supported by Liverpool... could our army in Yorkshire, convoy through the fleet in North Sea and land again at the newly vacated London?
