The Religious State
Having seen many opinions on this forum, I am wondering about the acceptability of a religious state. Should a state be able to be primarily Muslim, Jewish, or Christian (etc.)? Is this acceptable in the modern world? If so, how far can this theocracy of sorts go? May they make laws based upon the respective religion? How far reaching should these laws be?

Please discuss, and remain amicable.

Happy Easter everyone
On this auspicious day I would like to share with the community my belief that the resurrection of Jesus was figurative, and not literal. The "risen" Jesus is the one that won the greatest person in history tournament. Respectfully, that's what I believe. He is risen, risen indeed.

What's the difference between vdiplomacy and webdiplomacy?
I've recently been to the vdiplomacy site and it was very interesting that the interface and logo look similar to the webdiplomacy one. Are the 2 sites somehow related?

I uploaded SunZi's "Little Dipper" Android application to Aptoide
Our very own SunZi (userID=19506) once created a useful Android app Diplomacy adjudicator based on webDiplomacy code. SunZi publically published this adjudicator app ("Little Dipper") on GetJar, where it is still free to download.

For the sake of archiving SunZi's work, which our comrade gave the bare minimum of advertising (threadID=879472 & threadID=882356), I uploaded the app to Aptoide.

What to do?
What do you do when you're playing with an asshole that has the chance to draw, but refuses to do so when it is obvious that another player is going to get a solo? He's so annoying it hurts I really don't know what to do I mean it's obvious that if we continue the game will be a solo for another guy. He simply REFUSES TO DRAW

Oh, blow the man down, bullies, blow the man down!
To me way-aye, blow the man down.
Oh, Blow the man down, bullies, blow him right down!
Give me some time to blow the man down!
As I was a-walking down Paradise Street,
To me way-aye, blow the man down.
A pretty young damsel I chanced for to meet.
Give me some time to blow the man down!

She was round in the counter and bluff in the bow,
So I took in all sail and cried “Way enough now.”

I hailed her in English, she answered me clear,
“I’m from the Black Arrow bound to the Shakespeare.”

So I tailed her my flipper and took her in tow,
And yardarm to yardarm away we did go.

But as we were going she said unto me,
“There’s a spanking full-rigger just ready for sea.”

That spanking full-rigger to New York was bound;
She was very well manned and very well found.

But soon as that packet was clear of the bar,
The mate knocked me down with the end of a spar,

And as soon as that packet was out on the sea,
`Twas devilish hard treatment of every degree.

So I give you fair warning before we belay;
Don’t never take heed of what pretty girls say.

It's been assured that the HC will be able to break ties. Is it smart to give someone a second vote? Given that the HC is going to be consistently changing, is it really good for us to have a different person capable of voting twice within a certain period? Don't let the HC vote, but let them serve as a tiebreaker, so that they get their vote when we need their vote. If we don't need their vote, they are able to discuss with us and still persuade us to vote a certain way, but are able to put the majority of their focus into their own duties, such as ensuring that the rest of the councillors are in good spirits and that in general we are a unified people. It's a burden, yes, but a higher purpose than any of the rest of us serve, but they are simply given too much power if they are also permitted a common vote in general legislation along with the power to break ties.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
19 Mar 15 UTC
I agree with Bo, If the HC gets the ability to break ties I don't want him to have a vote the rest of the time. I am changing my vote.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
19 Mar 15 UTC
I think we should consider the implications of allowing the main speaker, vote counter, and tie breaker, to also vote. The HC's power is in his bully pulpit; much like a U.S president.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
19 Mar 15 UTC
More like a vice president, though, with the tie breaker.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
19 Mar 15 UTC
Those of you that voted against using the HC as a tiebreaker and for the HC voting might consider a flip-flop given that the tiebreaker vote is basically assured right now.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
19 Mar 15 UTC
true. because the HC doesn't have VETO power.

abgemacht (1076 D(G))

The Captain informs Councilor Brian that it is likely a combination of age and the long journey. If the Councilors have suggestions, the Captain will hear them; otherwise, he'll leave it to the Alchemist.

Councilor Byron, the Captain informs you the Physician does not have personal items of note.

Convoying Question - the roundabout
Let us suppose someone has an army in Yorkshire and a fleet in North Sea. However, the army is beset by enemies in London and Liverpool.
Our army in Yorkshire is going to be pushed out. If we assume the attack will come from London supported by Liverpool... could our army in Yorkshire, convoy through the fleet in North Sea and land again at the newly vacated London?
