GoT Variant?
I recently started watching Game of Thrones, and as you can imagine it reminded me of this wretched game quite a bit. Has anyone thought of making a variant based on Westeros? Does one already exist?

Bernie Sanders kicked out of hippie commune for laziness
http://freebeacon.com/politics/bernie-sanders-asked-leave-hippie-commune/

Raises the question in my mind of what will be done (if anything) with people who refuse to work in the socialist society Bernie and his supporters wish to impose. Forced labor camps? Expulsion from the country? Revocation of their EBT card and Section 8 subsidies? Or nothing?

The Trump Effect
Recently I've been hearing several left leaning souls start talking about the likelihood of them voting Trump now that the Bern has been all but extinguished. What I am curious about is why. What is it about Trump that makes him the lesser of two evils?

Like I knew that, Socrates. This is why I can't take you seriously - you deliberately ignore points and instead deflect onto the racist/sexist card.

If the most that people against Trump can put forward is "he's racist and misogynistic" he'll probably become president

It's because most aren't Muslim or Hispanic and won't suffer under a Trump presidency.

I find it hard to believe that a Trump presidency and a republican congress would be less interventionist. The republicans haven't been non-interventionist since the 40's.

If they really were voting on principle there are a number of third party candidates that probably align with their views better than Trump. Jill Stein anyone?
@The point was more to show the ridiculousness of bringing up the legal status of how our ancestors got here. It's irrelevant to the arguments you want to make now, and insofar as it is not irrelevant, slavery (how a lot of people in this country had their ancestors get here) undercuts your point. I do think there should be limits to immigration, but the wall is clearly ridiculous. Trump's call to use people's religion to determine if they can live here, is clearly racist (is that a trivial deflection?). Is Trump's comments on women trivial?

"If they want to come here they can do it legally, like my ancestors did and most of yours."

You want people to come here unannounced and then kill us with disease and superior firepower?
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
27 Apr 16 UTC
They didn't know all that much about disease back then. There were some minor accounts of the "smallpox blanket" but generally almost all the natives were gone before widespread settling.

Different world and time anyway.

Actually, we'd have to give the country back to the people that the Indians killed to rise to power...but they probably had to kill people to rise to power too. And so forth and so on. We can play "who's the most guilty" all day but it solves nothing moving forward.
Well except what was done to the native americains by the Europeans colonist could be considered cultural genocide...

One thing I don't like is when people compare Trump to Hitler. The greater comparison is Trump to Andrew Jackson:
-Xenophobic
-Elected by populist
-Hated government interference in economy
-Huge ego
-Seen as outsider by many

Continue the trend and that means
::::Trump will impose his own will over that of the Supreme Court, believing he deserves more power than his position as the executive gives him

Which holy shit sounds just about right
JamesYanik (548 D)

I believe that ideologically and befitting the constitution, Trump is the worst choice for candidate

@ Falcon: that term could also be used to describe the tribes that killed off other tribes. Not all Indian cultures are the same.
JamesYanik (548 D)

Many of the Indian tribes were peaceful

Remember US history where you heard about the French: peaceful and trading all throughout the continent?

So there is little justification for bloodshed in the Majority of instances in which it arose, much of it was European superiority

Still, holding people from hundreds of years ago accountable to modern standards isn't really a way to make an argument or start a conversation.

Anyone with that big of an ego and an underlying message to "make America great again" is undoubtedly going to try and involve America in every international issue in an extremely aggressive manner. Sanders supporters that say they can't stand Clinton because of her interventionist behaviour and then go and support Trump are completely delusion. I can not understand where a person supporting a socialist would turn around and sooner support a businessman who bankrupted his own companies to get ahead than a progressive, polished democrat. How can you go from supporting someone left wing to a racist, sexist, xenophobic asshole who knows nothing about politics? Even assuming you are a privileged white male who doesn't care about the problems of anyone else, does it not bother you guys that Trump acts like a middle schooler in nearly every regard?

Its because these hipster 20-somethings listen to angsty music and go to coachella and see fe the bern posters. Then they tell their friends about it. Its hipsterism. So if Bernie loses they can buck the system again by feelin the trump.

All any of the trump + bernie stuff is about is being angry with establishment politics. I'm not even sure half these hipsters know what establishment politics are they just "know" its bad because (insert republican diatribes about Hillary being corrupt here)
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
27 Apr 16 UTC

Does it not bother you that Hillary is bought and paid for by Wall Street, lies and panders based on the current political climate, and had a private unsecured email server?

Hillary is the establishment on steroids combined with a big dose of corrupt.

Trump isn't perfect. I didn't like him at first either, but I'm 100% against Hillary and I really don't think Trump is as "racist, sexist, xenophobic" as he puts on - pretty sure a lot of it is to get media attention and attract right wing support.

Also:

"Even assuming you are a privileged white male who doesn't care about the problems of anyone else"

That sentence is just as "offensive" as half the things Trump has said. Why is being a white guy a bad thing to some people? White people didn't choose to be white. It's getting old being told we aren't allowed to have opinions on things / we don't care / our opinions don't matter just because of being white or a guy.

So its fair to say you dont vote on policy at all. The only issue you care about is big money in politics...Or corruption as you call it.

So why were you not a vocal Rand Paul or Mike Huckabee supporter?
Durga (3609 D)
27 Apr 16 UTC
There are privileged white men who care about the problems of others, and there are privileged white men who don't. Did I hurt your little white boy feelings by implying you're only concerned about yourself? I like that when I said that... You remained only concerned about yourself. And where did I say you weren't allowed to have an opinion? In fact, pretty sure I asked you to help me understand yours. But your fake ass victim complex blinds you from the truth, I get it.

Top kek on you for saying Hillary is horrible for lying and then attempting to justify Trump's hatred by saying he was lying to attract attention and right wing support (b/c lying for these things is totally okay!)
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
27 Apr 16 UTC
I vote on policy too, but I don't believe Hillary believes in any of the policies she pushes for. I don't know what she would do because I'm not the one lining her pockets.

I was a huge Rand Paul supporter. I'm a fan of Bernie too.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
27 Apr 16 UTC
You said you assumed we were privileged white guys who don't care. It's obnoxious to assume that about everyone who supports Trump.

I don't feel like a victim nor am I only concerned with myself. You've seen fit to make this personal and try to hand-wave any of our opinions away.

You do have a point about the Hillary vs Trump lying thing. Still, I'd rather someone lie to make themselves look worse than make lie to make themselves look better.

No Demon, your smug self-righteousness and inflated morality, along with your inability to accept another person's point of view without labeling them with a negative quantifier only marked you as a petulant child who isn't worth wasting my time on (besides this last remark).
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

If Hillary were the progressive she claims to be, she would have been running on Bernie's platform from the start instead of casually adopting the "get money out of politics" charade that we all know she actively participates in.

Her environmental record is terrible, her economic policy is basically like every other pseudo-liberal Democrat, and her policy in general aligns with whoever gives her more money. If you vote only on policy and not on principle, you vote for whoever your special interests are, not for your candidate.

There's write ins in 43 states. Hopefully Bernie supporters will pick up on that. Independents are the largest voting bloc in the country and hopefully we'll make a point if nothing else.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
27 Apr 16 UTC
Chaqa, Trump's supporters are overwhelmingly white. That's no secret. That's a Republican thing.
Wait, just a second.

"I was a huge Rand Paul supporter. I'm a fan of Bernie too."

Chaqa, how does this, work? Like how. Aren't socialism and libertarian minded conservatism kind of in tension with one another? No other questions, just curious.

Just a basic question!
What does voting to 'Cancel' mean? what do you cancel when you vote for it?
And, how does Pause work? when you pause, how do you resume the game? is it paused for a specific amount of time or do you vote to un-pause later?

First Time Prom.
Help me WebDip, you're my only hope.

Seriously, though, I am a male junior, and found out today that the person on my mind has me on hers. Prom is in 2 weeks. I have not asked her, and fear that the window has shut on this opportunity. Even if I did go (all my buddies want me to go) I would have no idea what to do, what to say, or where to go.
