I find it odd that someone who knows nothing about my Mafia game behavior has choosen music to represent me.

What this tells me is that we have a person that is more than willing to try to cast a person in a certain light, even thought they have no information about them.

i.e. this person is a Scum....the kind of fellow who will railroad you to the execution chamber on no evidence....because he has an ulterior motive.

I'm keeping my eye on THAT suspicious bastard...

definitely going to be tough for wjessop going into an all star game with the only game behind him as the mafia MVP. if I'm town i don't know what it would take to get me to trust him.

well obviously i won't be going into the game assuming you're scum, but can you fault me for probably analyzing you with a bit more scrutiny and skepticism than others that I might feel more comfortable and confident at reading accurately?

its like saying any player with a competent performance as mafia becomes less trustworthy, which would most likely mean most of the players on this list cannot be trusted by you. Presumably the "what it takes" part of your statement above is that you can spot tells from the players base here that suggest whether they're town or not based on the meta...but this isn't the be all and end all to the game. Having a near-unbreakable distrust me of in a new game simply because I was good scum in the contrived world of the last game would be too simplistic and unhelpful (as well as a lazy starting point to a case on me).

@y2k: certainly, I agree with you there. Actually, I think the challenge of you needing to apply your abilities to scrutinise and be sceptical is a primary function of this game -- so I'm glad if the reduced meta data available on me makes the game more challenging; I thought the most boring and lazy part of Mafia 9 was the frequent insistence in comparing play from one game to the next; it presumes far too much.

this game will be fraught with meta-arguments about how people have played in past games. that's unavoidable and not necessarily a bad thing, since as veteran players i'd like to think we'll use those meta-arguments carefully and only use them to guide arguments for or against someone's scumminess, relying mainly on current game actions. all those meta arguments scream WIFOM and quite frankly are lazy and scummy in and of themselves, saying someone is good or bad based on what you know about them in past games and avoiding actually analyzing current game actions.
