Now that I've finally finished that, I would move to add an amendment to the queue:

I vote to amend Rule #5 to state: "All proposed new rules, proposed rule changes, or proposed rule deletions require a simple majority (more than half) of [the votes] of those playing, in order to pass, with the proposer automatically presumed to vote in favour unless they state otherwise.

(Addition / Amendment is the small section in brackets, and could help close a loophole if the proposal made by ezra willis is passed)

I propose an amendment for SD's rule (when it comes up in the queue), that the explanation should follow the word "WHEREAS," which should open the proposal, and that the explanation should be followed by the words "THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT"

My thought was that the amendment could come open for voting at the same time as the proposal did? But maybe I'm still misunderstanding how amendments work.

(I could be misunderstanding how they work too) As far as I see, they are supposed to be referencing a rule that is current in place, since an Amendment is a 'Rule Change' for all intents and purposes.

i think amendments before could be voted on at the same time, but now they have to join the queue and can't be simultaneous, so your amendment goes after ezras general proposal

Yo, kasi's amendment is in the queue, not active, because my amendment passed. Rule eleven also needs to be edited to include all proposals/amendments/deletions as per the passing of that amendment.

Also: I had an amendment in the queue (as of my recent recap post)(The 2nd part contained an amendment proposal.)

As far as I read it, though it is not necessarily in the 'spirit of the law' the current proposal is 'active' not in the queue, thus meaning I can add to the queue again?

I think we can all kinda keep track of it. I was going to update everything, but I didnt want to update it too much. Once the next page rolls around, I can post everything (except pointz) updated.

Guys, I just found a logical mishap. Rule 11 was amended so that only 1 rule or amendment can be open at any time. Rule 14 says that we can queue rules, but says nothing about a queue for amendments.

Kasi's amendment is also in a weird spot right now, but according to rule 11, it is an "open proposal" so it will go on the queue. I think we should put it on the top and as soon as guak's proposal is done we can finish up Kasi's amendment.

Since there is no rule allowing us to queue amendments, I would like to propose a rule:

All amendments that are proposed will be put in a queue. This queue will be seperate from the rule queue, and takes priority over the rule queue. However, in order to be an amendment, the amendment must relate to the rule it amends. If a nomic member feels that is does not relate, I vote will be called for to determine if it should be placed on the queue or not.

Reason that this rule benefits nomic members:
Amendments are sometimes urgent, and so a seperate queue would allow us to look at amendments quickly without having to wait days for other rules to pass. It also prevents irrelevant amendments.
