I wasn't comparing it in my mind even though I am a christian. I still think being gay is better than being a pedophile. My point was if we legalize gay marriage for the point of love and freedom. You can't argue they have the same justification to push bills in their favor.

You say gays should be together because they love each other and the constitution garuntees the right to pursue happiness. If gay-marriage gets passed, then all of those people that thought they could never get rights for what their into can make that same argument and legally I don't see how you could dispute them. It would only be a moral issue you could argue and apparently if you claim an argument on that stance it is upon hatred.

Better yet how does gay marriage even affect you. Don't like it don't have one, but give the chance for everyone to be miserable in marriage.

To that, all I'd have to say is that we need to consider each issue on its own merit. (The constitution, btw has absolutely nothing to do with why I think gay marriage is a must). Assuming your logic is valid, then there is still fundamentally no difference between straight marriage and gay marriage. Nothing you've just said justifies why one group should be allowed and the other should not.

If two people love eachother and want to spend the rest of their life together, they should be allowed to get married.

No exceptions.

Because if the state has to recognize it. Then I do too. You preach on tolerance but you are really ranting about acceptance. You can tolerate a head cold or a screaming baby on an airplane, but it can still tick you off.

But head colds and screaming babies directly affect you in a negative way.

Sorry if I heard wrong. I do apologize. I'm a different faith and while my faith finds gay marriage to be acceptable I would never think to impose that belief on another faith.

Holy_Crusader - You keep saying you've made a valid point. I have yet to hear you make one that hasn't been addressed, and effectively rebutted. LGBT adults can consent to marriage, children, animals, and buildings cannot. That is the difference.

And you know what, yeah, you do have to recognize that other people have relationships that are different from yours. You're not winning any points here by saying how hard it is for you to accept that other people around you might be different. You are just straight up admitting to being a bigot. There's plenty of heterosexual couples that annoy the piss out of me in public. I actually think every couple has had a moment where everyone else in their immediate area would wish that they couldn't be a couple, whether that's getting in a heated argument in a restaurant or making out in a place that passerby don't really want to see people making out. If marriages were granted or denied based solely on whether seeing those people together might possibly annoy someone at a point in time in the future, then no one would ever be able to be married.

How you feel about someone's marriage is irrelevant because at the end of the day, you're not the one that has to be in the marriage. As long as they're consenting adults who want to be in the marriage, more power to them.

Also, I'm sad that Draug is all excited about Celtic being pagan when he didn't even raise an eyebrow when I talked about being pagan. :) Not really, just found it funny.

Actually, i believe you will find that siblings who have not been raised together are libale to find each other attractive... this being that their is usually a biological repulsion to sex with siblings which develops in early childhood with large amounts of close interaction... if i'm not mistaken.
