@Fasces:
Stop embarassing yourself. I know you won't listen , but on the off chance you do...stop embarassing yourself.
@Draug:
Fair enough. :)
@Santa C:
I'mn not treating Les Mis as a factual reference...
Draug used a literary reference, so I was merely using one too.
@principians:
"so, why do you care at all?"
-Takes news time away from real stories
-It's--unfairly--labeled as many as reflecting poorly on the Left Wing, the wing I vote for most often and agree with the most (Though, as you can tell by my comments, I'm not afraid to go conservative, either, the liberal options just appeals the most often.)
-It's preventing, via those first two, a REAL protest or movement towards some tangible solutions arising.
-It's a waste of these kids time, and I feel sorry for the kids to that end...we're all so fond of citing the Flower Children here--the Summer of Love HARDLY was the idyllic paradisial area and time in SF that it's remembered as...hell, even George Harrison and the Beatles, the inspiration for plenty of those Flower Children, called the whole thing sad when he went and actually saw how they lived and what they were doing...it hasn't reached that level yet, but if these kids keep going like this, many of them could regret it later in life...I doubt many prospective employers are going to look favorably on those who stripped and put on a nude show for this, for instance...and bosses aren't overenthusiastic about hiring people who call their ilk greedy pigs that need to be stopped, either...
-I find it rather offensive that these kids aren't even TRYING to get work right not and are just putting on a show, all camped out...again, I don't make tutoring, but 1. I'm at least trying and 2. I'm making more now than when I started by growing it with some advertising and good word of mouth from some good jobs and EFFORT I put in...I'm hardly the exemplar of how to succeed in this economy, but I think at least I can be counted as someone who's attempting to get on, rather than someone who pitched a tend to bitch, moan, and quit
-Their likening themselve to the Egyptian protesters is like my earnestly likening my most caffeine-fueled ramblings to the works of Plato or calling a USA/Germany hockey match akin to WWII, ie, ignorant, absurd, downright stupid, offensive, putrid, and reeking of a level of self-imnportance and self-indulgence that causes even I with my inflated ego to turn up my lunch.
-"We are the 99%" my ass...enough said...
For starters.
@Lando:
THANK YOU. +1
