My first opinion of ghug is that the bragging about being such a good scum finder is a town tell. I find that scum are usually more focused on downplaying their ability to make reads as they forecast that they're going to have to get some "reads" wrong.

I see where you're going with your "insulting and non-buddying is different than when I observed ghug as scum last game" line of thought, but I think it's premature. I mean, ghug has blatantly been insulting and rude. And, generally, that's the kind of thing that town does a lot more than scum, and it breaks with a recent scum ghug example, but it's also the kind of thing clever scum might open with. And I feel like ghug has done it so much. He is like begging us to say: "Wow, ghug is sure being rude to everyone." For that reason, I wouldn't sort him based on that. It is consistent with a sort of counter-intuitive blend in behavior too.

It's been a while since I played with TrPrado. I have scum read him when he was town, and scum read him when he was scum. I don't remember too many details except that I don't think he was very influential or experienced back in MXI or whatever it was.

Character is perhaps the wrong term. I simply meant to inquire what sort of player he is.

M11 was when we were both town and he scum read me, that's the one I remember more of. He died on the first day because scum bo latched onto a single line and turned it into an alleged scumslip, meanwhile I held a strong stance against guak, who I wrongly believed to be scum and banged the drums until his death left me feeling quite awkward.

Balki: Influence isn't what I'm after, and the degree to which I want credibility is as much as it can help me seem more coherent when I catch scum with cases, but I don't have the evidence for that sort of credibility yet because none truly exists, just impressions on how people play. And you know the players that are leaving an awfully bad taste in my mouth right now.

Why are you so eager to hunt down my meta? Most of my games I've suffered from too many commitments outside the game, which led to a scarcity of posts, and less than decent play. As Jamie said, I'm good if I have time. That's why I've refused to play for quite a while. I can post now, so I'm also going to seem considerably different than how I was in most of my games. Do you not trust what you've heard of this at other points in fhis game?

I hope everyone notices what Prado just did. He ignored my question because he doesn't have an answer. What details didn't I harp on? Cerry's read was "ghug is definitely mafia". Yours I asked you to clarify, and you refused.

Ah, OK, here we are. You just can't read. I called him out for calling me shit in general and then idly going along with everything I was doing. That to me feels incongruous. He's claiming he doesn't actually think I'm shit now, which I'm inclined to read as legitimate, but I still feel like he hasn't been keen to answer questions about it.

This was bugging me while I was out. ND posted what I feel was an abnormally (for the average player) comprehensive list of partial reads and thoughts when he showed up. I think it was a couple pages later, but that's not really a significant difference. ND always does this, so that in itself doesn't surprise me, but why the fuck is he calling someone else out on it?

Can someone talk about anyone other than the three of us? Balki's like kinda doing it, but for the most part, this game is really limited in its connection creation rn, which is no good.

@Jamie It's true I need to contribute, but being in the UK I was asleep when the game got going in earnest, and I can't do anything at the moment with about three players online.

I have to agree with DO and Balki, it's hard to find questions to ask to break this TrPrado-Snowy-Ghug monopoly.
I don't have a scum read on any of them and we should start to get more people playing and this isn't helping.
@Vashta - What do you think of Snowy wanting to policy lynch you, it's a joke or not? Do you want to policy lynch someone?

@Ika - I think we have more then three players online, but even if this is true you can still share your thoughts.

I do not like Snowy declaring that before the end of D1 he is going to "prove" that he is town. Nobody can *prove* their alignment before even the first flip. This sounds like the kind of foolish gambit Vecna or Maniac would attempt.

Yeah, anyone think it a little strange that snowy reverts to his big long post meta after taking some flak? He just reverted from his playstyle of quick, snappy posts to long analytic posts, something snowy himself said is his town meta. He's also been hyperaggressive this game, something I don't think reflects well on him as a player, but then I was like that last game. Ghug seems to be up to his usual tiresome bragging, but I've yet to see some meaningful content from him. @Ghug, stop polluting our airwaves.

Allright. Here are some of my thoughts so far, and some questions to follow.

Regarding the whole ghug/TrPrado/ghug dynamic:

Right now I fairly strongly townread TrPrado. He has been aggressive and stirring discussion (though not as much as he likes to say). He comes across as pretty sincere in his belief/thought process that ghug is scum. I am a bit reluctant because I’ve never played with him, but he doesn’t have a reputation as a mafia great and I think scum would be hesitant to go out on a ledge and open themselves up to the amount of scrutiny he has put himself under.

I’ve a harder time with snowy and ghug because often early they are abrasive and push reads not necessarily out of sincerity of the belief, but to gain reactions – which while that is quality town play, both are good enough to fake it as scum as well. Ghug in particular was pretty convincing when he played scum on Discord, so I’m null on him at the moment. I think snowy is a much better town player than scum – so I’m ok waiting to see what else he contributes. I don’t think he has done anything scummy – especially not scummy enough to draw so many votes early.

Some questions:

@TrPrado – You’ve established that you scumread ghug. Do you have any townreads yet?

@Balduran – Care to share your thoughts on snowy in particular? You usually have something to say about him

@ND – You asked if anyone had thoughts on your Oztra case. I think it’s a bad case. He was really bad last game. Very inexperienced. I don’t think his posts in this game are scummy, just novice. (I guess that’s not really a question.)

@Ika – You point out that snowy seems to have moved back to his long post town meta – and admitted he was doing it. Do you think this is alignment indicative in any way?

@Tom Like all things on D1, it's too early to say. There are arguments for both sides in this case: for town, he was up-front about it and may have been a change in playstyle as he saw that his previous angle of attack wasn't working. For scum, it may look like he's trying to appease town as he was facing the noose. I couldn't possibly say either way with great certainty, but I'll assume he's town until new info comes in. That said, his playstyle before the shift was fairly scummy. I'm wary of any player who comes in so confrontational and ostentatious in their attacks, it comes across as theatrics to me.

Why do you think he would open with that kind of playstyle?

And what do you think of ghug? He was equally rude and abrasive through much of that. Are you wary of him?
