Can We Get Rid of Black Friday?
The latest viral video is a brawl between shoppers. The latest "news" is that Black Friday sales are down… wonder why, you created Cyber Monday. And people don't want to get in brawls while shopping for Christmas.

I've learned a few things. Not many, of course. I'm sure a bunch of you would back that up. For example, I can't spell kat. Catt. My dog just burped and I lost my train of thought. Cat.

Here's a Controversial Thread for You
So let's play a word game, shall we? It's a very simple game. I type a sentence, you post with your word or phrase that you think fits best. You can go to any extreme you like that doesn't make me want to punch you in the face. If "krellin-like" is your best answer, go for it. It'd probably be mine too.

Here's the question: How _______ does a nation have to be to try and execute people for creating a video across the world that didn't even make theaters?

My amended apology
Alright, so second time is the charm. This wasn't suggested by the mods, but I feel my first was disingenuous.

I played a bunch of games with my brother, subutai. We didn't feel like we were breaking the rules or the spirit of the game. This may be because we were being willfully ignorant and didn't want to believe we were cheating or it could be because the rule is sort of vague. The reality of this situation is that we broke the rules as the sites administrators saw the rule. Well that sucks. They punished me by removing half my points. I think this is fair. I came across as pretty frustrated in my first apology, this was more with the manner that the communication was received. It is likely that the reality of this situation is that written words can seem more harsh because we commonly read intentions that weren't there when the author composed the message. I apologize the community as a whole. I am sorry if you were in a game with me that was affected by meta-gaming. I hope that people that have been in other games know that I am a legit player.

By making a public apology, you not only out yourself as a meta gamer, you also diminish the value of the apology.
smcbride1983 (517 D)

So, I have to out myself as a meta-gamer. It was part of my punishment.

"felt your first was disingenuous..." Since you now are telling us your FIRST apology was disingenuous...i.e. Coerced and with no meaning...then why should anyone believe you now. You *still* equivocation and try to act like you didn't know. Damn, just say you were wrong and stop making excuses!!

smcbride1983 (517 D)

Krellin the first apology was written while angry. After reading a few comments on my original apology I realized that 2 things 1) my beef was with the mods communicstion and method of resolution 2) and my as pology came off as disengenuous. The community deserves an apology regardless of how the mods hsnfled my situation.
smcbride1983 (517 D)
27 Nov 12 UTC
Also thank you to flemgem for accepting the apology and thanks to abge for offering a place in your game. That is a great example of how the mod and the player aren't the same person and is a good example of how reasonable the team is.
he wasn't your brother. he was your multi.
do people beli3ve we were born yesterday? Jesus Christ.
smcbride1983 (517 D)
27 Nov 12 UTC
So, I am pretty sure that is an accusation that is unfounded. Why would you think he was my multi?
smcbride1983 (517 D)
27 Nov 12 UTC
The mods checked the IP dealy or whatever crazy technology they have. I am sure they saw multiple times that we were online at the same time and sending each other press. And we are on different sides of the state.
because "your brother" isn't here as well. We have no idea who your brother is, and you never informed anyone of your brother before. Just like everyone else who when confronted with their multying all of a sudden has a brother come out of the woodwork and expect us to eat it up.

@SC

I suggest you quit while you're ahead.
smcbride1983 (517 D)
27 Nov 12 UTC
What good would it do if my brother popped on? You would just say that I logged into my other account when confronted.
smcbride1983 (517 D)
27 Nov 12 UTC
It doesn't really matter if you believe we are brothers or multis. I think in reality you should trust the mods. Just because I sent out an apology doesn't mean my brother is going to. He might be a stubborn asshole. He might not feel like arguing with you guys.
SMC, I'm quite honestly pissed if he was or wasn't a real person. You played many many games with him, and you two constantly worked together. I truly believe there is no brother (funny how these brothers are always "stubborn ass holes" or something similar). At best its severe meta gaming. At best you ruined several games.

If the other guy happens to be real it just means you are one of two cheaters
quit while I'm ahead, right.
smcbride1983 (517 D)
27 Nov 12 UTC
Eh, whatever. He exists. And like a good brother he posted his apology. I find it interesting that a few people are very empathetic while others are very sure that what I did was damnable. I truly didn't think we were cheating while it went on. I mean, the game was initially a board game, which means people, most commonly ones who knew each other, would play together. As was pointed out by erist, meta-gaming is part of the game in that we use what we know about others to make our decisions.
smcbride1983 (517 D)
27 Nov 12 UTC
But, that being said, we broke the rule and have been punished. Regardless of what we thought the rule was. We were wrong and we were punished as was seen necessary. Feel free to hate me or despise me or dismiss anything I say or mute me. But, don't accuse me of being a multi account because it is false.

Hey Krellin, remember when Semck and I agreed on something for the first time ever?

Is it at all surprising that the agreement is on the degree of your suck?
Draugnar (0 DX)
27 Nov 12 UTC
@smc - You confuse two people knowing each other with all seven. In the boardgame, you rarely had two or three friends and a shitload of strangers. Typically *everyone* knew everyone else. That isn't the case when you play with your brother. You are the only two who know each other. See the difference? Poker with friends gets lots of winks and nudges and not taken seriously, but bring your brother to a casino and colude with him against 4-8 other players and watch you get kicked out of the poker room and your money taken by the casino. IT *will* happen because it is cheating. Different environment, different rules to cover an unfair advantage.
empathetic...

Why the fuck should we be empathetic, AT BEST you secretly double teamed unsuspecting players for months. The number you both survived, or one got steamrolled by the other on the way to a win or a good start is staggering. People should be empathetic?

smcbride1983 (517 D)

They deemed cheating just no multi accounting. What will prove to you we aren't multis? I'm happy to submit it. Photos? Birth certificates? Penis shots? (pleaseohpleaseohplease penis shots)

Can Russia Spawn Two Fleets in St. Petersburg at the same time on each coast?
So I was playing as russia and during the build phase it allowed me to build two units in St. Petersburg, one fleet on the north coast and one fleet on the south coast. It allowed me to press "ready" but I didn't because I wasn't sure if it would cancel my build or something. can someone please shed some light on this? Thanks!

My apologies to the community
“You can't make alliances for reasons outside a game, such as because you are friends, relatives or in return for a favour in another game. This is known as metagaming and is against the rules because it gives an unfair advantage to those involved. If you are worried that you can't stab someone because you want to stay friends, then that's fair enough but you can't join a game with them.”
