Damn, was about to suggest the Wii.

Well, all I know is I've had all three...

The XBox broke, and the PS3 didn't and the PS2 and 1 we have/had are/were going strong still when we got rid of them...so...

I had a 64 and a SNES but I wanted a modern gaming system so I bought a 360.
The 360 doesn't work anymore but the other two still do...

The only big difference in game selection, as far as I know, is Halo on the 360 and a sports game or two (can't remember which ones) for ps3.

roommate has an xbox, seems user friendly and kinnect seems cool for young daughters

Wii is good for *certain* games. Just Dance games are fun for kids. "Force Unleashed" (Star Wars Light saber games) are a perfect game for the Wii platform...but there a *lot* of games that just do not work well with the Wii controller.

Again...I'm a *die hard* PC gamer and nothing beats keyboard and mouse....slash that...TRACKBALL....for PC gaming....which is why PC gamers and Console gamers can never share servers -- because PC gamers would decimate the consolers.

How about people's views on Xbox controller versus the PS# controller. Thoughts?

The old xbox controller was atrocious but the new one isn't too bad. I'm still partial to the ps3 one though.

I dunno. I guess it's personal preference. I'm no gaming guru. The ps3 is just really easy to hold and whatnot. I'd guess it's doubly so if you have smaller hands like I bet your daughters do.

Hundreds of addictive cool 2 games incomparable to the modern crappy games.
A collection of 100 games plus the system will cost you about 50 $
If you are more of a Nintendo fan then I guess the same applies to Super Nes.
But everyone knows that Sega does what Nintendon'ts ;)

Really, I was joking. Simply poking fun at how conversations with you often seem to escalate (maybe degrade is a better term) to pretty quickly. It seemingly didn't translate well over the int3rnet and, I'm obviously sorry if you got upset over it.

i personally own a Playstation 3 and have played an box 360. The PS3 In my opinion has better graphics and games (though most are for both systems) The playstation has a blueray player automaticly installed with it and it also has free internet if you were to play online. The Xbox however makes you pay for online and has the halo series. there a number of ups in downs on each system but overall the PS3 lasts longer and preforms better.

Back on topic though. The PS3 also seem pretty strong for integrating it to the rest of your home media if that's something you're interested in.

rollerfriend@ I have done it but it's not the same to play with the original controller (which can't be plugged into the pc unless you perform some real surgery on it). Graphics and sound are not the same either.
