Tournament Director:
The TD is responsible for all game-aspects of the tournament, including, but not limited to: rules, boards, scoring, game disputes, and prizes.
The TD must be a competent player, who understands the intricacies of the rules and implications of various scoring systems. The TD must also be objective, calm, and able to handle disputes and anomalies in a timely and just fashion.
Event Coordinator:
The EC is responsible for all parts of the tournament not directly related to the game, including, but not limited to: booking a location, coordinating meals, assisting players with hotels and transportation, collecting money, and prizes.
The EC must be a competent organizer, capable of making reservations, and coordinating many people over a series of days. Because of the responsibilities of the EC, they must be over 21 and it is strongly recommended that they live near and are familiar with the event location.
When applying for TD, you should make it clear where in the US you are willing to travel to. When applying for EC, you should also make a bid for the location.
Also, please remember that the last F2F was in Boston, so having an event in Central, or Western US is preferred, although not mandatory.
