I saw it on Friday on FX (in the UK). Brilliant! If you saw "28 days later" you'll know the basic storyline. The scene with the girl in the park really was gruesome though.

hahaha "Dead Like Me" was good, but wouldn't be the first thing I thought of. Both "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad" are fantastic as well.

I loved the first season of DLM, but for some reason I couldn't get into the second.

It was not as good in the 2nd but I think I was caught up more in the concept than the individual stories. I've read a book that might have inspired the DLM, I think it was called the "White Horse Man"?

Maybe "On a Pale Horse"? By Piers Anthony? It's book one of his Incarnations of Immortality series.

It's been a couple of decades.

AMC are the new HBO, loved Rubicon and loving The walking Dead.

Saw it, if only because a friend was a big fan of the original comic. I have to say, it surprised me at how good it actually was. (and I still laugh at the fact that AMC refers to it as an 'original series')

I stuck with the glacially-paced Rubicon until they had five minutes of airtime showing Miranda Richardson walking around an empty apartment, and then she left without anything happening! Appalling directing. I've got better ways to waste my time.

Dude, she was looking for her keys. It's called character development.

There are cinematic techniques for explanatory narrative without showing her looking in every single sodding room. You don't have to show her having breakfast, brushing her teeth, taking a dump etc. just to establish that she has woken up!

Plus the lead character was an absolute pussy. ;-)

You should have supported it when the graphic novels appeared a few years ago!

The series so far sticks very closely to the story already written and if i continues, it should prove to be very, very good indeed.

I have to say, I had no idea it was a comic. That's fascinating.

Breaking Bad was fantastic until last season where the writers lost their freaking minds!
Still, the show produces the most kick-ass action scenes ever seen on tv.

I loved the scene in BB (s3, e10) where the dude spent about 15 minutes trying to catch a fly in his lab. Brilliant. I was in stitches.

I'd rather watch Father Dougal McGuire......

not just a scene or whatever for backstory.. i want a whole fuckin movie on the topic i think it would be deliciously terrifying. imagine: all the survivors run to the village church on a stormy night, and the awful creatures follow them. the frightened priest watches in horror from the altar as the damned break down the door....

Thx for the tip. I'm reading _The Passage_ by Justin Cronin. Fair. I'd say 3.6/5.0. I'm sticking it out and it 700+ pages, so that says something. Reminds me of epic fantasy, but still survival horror.

The first episode was way better than the second. Not a good sign. Looks reasonably promising though.

I thought the second one was good, but I really liked how he was so alone in the first. You don't see too many shows/movies with one character. I thought it was a nice change of pace.

The way he was slow in coming to realization of new world order. That was more interesting than someone just grabing a gun blasting away as soon as they awakened.
