US - Rocky Mtn World Cup team?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there probably aren't three more here from Montana... so let's extend the geographic area to the states in the Rocky Mountain region. Any chance there are enough interested parties to field a team for the next World Cup tourney?

I'm not planning to start/join another game for about a year, though that remains to be seen. Anyway, think I've pulled in the last of the players that requested a game in my Invitational thread: abgemacht, Draugnar and hellalt.

I think Crazyter is out of town for a bit, maybe even a week, but when she gets back the two of us will pull in two more people. Feel free to post here or PM either one of us if you are interested in playing. The game will be semi-anon, but PLEASE no discussing who is who in the game! WTA, 25 point buy-in, 36 hour phases.

justinnhoo, the game is password protected, which implies you should be given the password before joining. I clearly stated that Crazyter and I would pull in two more people. I assumed nobody would hack into my game, so I gave it an easy password, but now I know better.

well that's a pretty crappy password protection. who in the world puts the password in the title? its not hacking if its stated right on there.... dont think your the top gun just cuz u have the most points. u need to learn how to show some respect. if u didn't want me to join u could've just said so

justinnhoo, I said to ask if you were interested, I did not say to join if you were interested or that if you were interested you would get in. I pulled in the first three, so Crazyter will get final say in the last two to join, so it's nothing personal.

Anyway, thanks for the lesson on respect, and for leading by example! ;-)

I'll add you to the list, Agent K, but Crazyter will have the final say on the last two spots and she may be out of town for a week. That said, I'm not really looking to be part of your vendetta, so I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you! ;-)

I am not out of town but I was in a workshop all day. MM I am so honored that you would create this whole game because I missed the others. Even tho I am in too many games now, how can I refuse?? I just cannot resist. Hopefully some of my others will finish up soon. However, I absolutely refuse to decide who is going to be in the game, that is too much pressure of a kind I dont want. Perhaps you could do some kind of coin flip or something?

@Strat I really really enjoyed playing a recent game with you, so feel free to join if you can.

MM, that was totally sincere. We've played, and everyone on the freaking site wants to play with you. The fact that we didn't get along very well in the game we played is irrelevant - I don't hold in-game crap against people.

The list of people who want to play with you is long. I think it's reasonable, especially given all the meatspace reasons for me *not* to play, to step aside and let someone else have a crack at it

Suggestion: Draw by centers

A lot of games end up with finishing off draw participants. Maximizing the outcome for the remaining powers. Not the best practice, from a certain perspective. Would it make sense to have the option for draws to not be equal. Everyone gets 1/7th (his entry cost) + a part of the rest, split proportionally to center count.

Can a convoy cut support?

I'm about to convoy an army to a territory A, with support from an adjacent territory B. My opponent has a unit in territory A and a unit in a third territory C adjacent to territory B. I'm worried he may order terC-terB with support from terA. I know that this will cut support from terB and make the convoy fail, but will the convoy at least cut support from terA and make his attack fail as well?

Bug - creation of impossible orders

It appears that I have a bug with convoys. The orders that executed aren't what I thought I entered. Further, the orders that attempted to execute aren't even possible.

chat room?

how much server strain would it be to set up a chat room for the live gamers? Working on the theory that you would then get to see who really was around, and whether or not it was worth starting a fresh game. Having the option to place icons after a name for things like "in a game" and "keen to play", and being able to show idle times and stuff like that?

Being new here I don't know if this has been discussed before but would be interested in feedback.
