Wow, I actually felt embarrassed watching that. I really don't understand this notion that evolution can't be true because we lack an explanation for a prime mover. It really makes no sense to me.

Furthermore, how do we know there isn't new life inside peanutbutter? Do they really expect a monkey to pop out of a jar? No, they would be microscopic. Talk about worst argument ever.

Actually, what I really don't understand is why, to so many people, evolution and god are mutually exclusive. Wouldn't it be enough if he created an entire universe and set evolution in motion?

Ironically, the closest to an argument this comes, as I think someone said already, is it argues against spontaneous generation, life from nothing...

There are few things to which the scientific method cannot be applied. Religion is one of them.

I think it would be hard to argue that that is an unreasonable view to hold.

Personally, I think the coolest scenario would be if the universe just came out of nothing. Of course, god/nothing, in either case, I ask: what before that?

The sad part about this video is that people buy it. Some people go to extreme to convince themselves that evolution does not exist, and to convince others that it doesn't. In my own church I've even seen people convince themselves that the degeneration of the human body is proof that evolution does not exist. If a human's body decays, wouldn't a species?

I'm a disbeliever in evolution myself (yeah, hate on me now), but this type of thing is ridiculous.

Adam and Eve or whaterver they are named in English were immortals before eating the magic fruit. If they were immortal, how natural selection worked?

I'll try to say this as politely as possible:

Do you believe in everything in the bible is literal? If so, then you aren't a very decent person. If not, then why can't Adam and Eve also be non-literal?

What they refuse to take into account is that a few billion jars a year for a hundred years is not enoff time or units. A new planet has trillions of units since you have an entire planet surface with the additional volume of the oceans miles deep, and the energy input is continius over millions of years. Than you also need to look at the energy levels needed to trigger an event. Your talking about UV, electrical discharges, and, or temps of moltan rock, much higher than levels used in pasturizing.

I don't believe in god, but most religious believe that what is said in the bible is litteraly true, that what I said : I don't see what you must help yourself stay polite.

The universe expands for billions of light years and has billions of galaxies and has lasted for billions of years. Considering the fine detail to which we can reduce and study matter (life is inversely minute to the size of the universe), I think it is rediculous to consider the source of this existence as 'accidental' or 'not divine'. I think it is equally rediculous to form governing scientific theories as to how the universe was created. Talk about a no win situation, time is better spent on Led Zeppelin.

I propose an experiment: We each put a jar of peanut putter in a tanning bed. If one of us gets life, we know evolution is true. Otherwise, God is the winner.

The real question is, do the preservatives in peanut butter have an adverse affect? I suggest you use regular peanut butter (as a control) and I'll use organic peanut butter (variable) Now, we're doing science!
