Are you familiar with the basic rules of diplomacy? Are you referring to the style of forum discussion. We are generally a peaceful (yet backstabbing) community of diplomacy lovers who love the smell of victory and heated discussion. Join a game by going to the game tab and looking under new. You have 100 so you can spend them to "anti in" to a pot for a game (look for a game with lower d point value players to get a feel for the format of submitting orders). Good luck. More people will give you better advice.

Yeah, and there are some games which allow only noobs. Just try and ask other players hw the game works. Never trust them tho.

Avalon Hill game i meant?
Its a computer game of Dip(pretty crap) but will allow you to play against basic computer players til you get the feel for it- also has a tutorial.... sure there are free downloads if you google it

I thought it was too hard to create good AI players in Diplomacy.

It is, the AI is awful. I own the game and when I used to play it I used to just play it as a gunboat-type game. The deals the AI proposes are always ridiculously one sided and it rarely if ever works with another player for more than one turn. The only value really was as a tactical familiarisation thing.

May I ask where you are from?

It is, thats why its great for beginners, because you're playing against an absolute dumbass of a player, so you can learn the concept of how to predict what someone is going to do and how to compensate for it a lot easier.

It is, that's why the game is crappy.

There's also a book on Diplomacy, which should help to clarify much, and also tactical information: Richard Sharp's 'The Game of Diplomacy'
