or we can send in the highest ghost-rated players and damn, if they are all as much better than me as the ones i've played i imagine it will be very competitive.

a tournament would probably take too long. ghost rating could be good, but since not all of the top 7 would want to, you'd probably end up going down the list a bit. but it would be fun!

Not to mention we have a few tournaments already.

what world series? this is just an idea to flatter the rest of the sites. I strongly doubt if any of these sites has more than 1000 players. I guess their best player would be something like the 500th best on this site.

I've never really read this ezine, but I wasn't exactly impressed with this issue...and I do like my diplomacy. It seems like a newletter mostly.

this issue was absoultly rubbish which makes it being late so much worse, to me there wasn't one article worth reading,that how to win every game article was the most unfunny piece of crap i have ever read in my life

"How to Win Every Game"... That was 5 minutes of my life gone forever. I so wanted to pluck my own eyeballs out after reading that self-serving piece of crap.

It does seem like a newsletter, true. That's probably because it has five issues a year and fewer articles than, say, Diplomacy World. I don't think that that is sensible.

yeah, i wasn't too interested in most of the articles, the one about Centrifugal force linked to an interesting opening for germany, i really like the convoy into denmark; but that from 1999...

it speaks volumes to the number of players contributing to the pouch, perhaps you could consider it a resource which you could contribute to instead of complaining that it's not up to much.

anyway, i'd like to see what sort of team this site can put together. I played on the Irish team for the dip world cup which was run on staberfou a few years ago, and i'm up for a team game.

how would a team game work?

it would be multiple players on a team from this site playing multiple games (usually each player playing one of the 7 countries) against players from other sites.

or infact web-dip could field a B team aswell, which might make up for the fact that there may be less than 7 websites capable of fielding a team, and the fact that otherwise it is unlikely that i will get to play (plus we can kick the A team's ass, that will show them :P )

Hmm, why not national teams within this website? Could be a nice idea though I would have to choose between playing for the U.S., Spain, and Honduras and even then I might not get to play for a nation. I also believe that players have to earn a spot on a national team instead of just looking at the ghost rating.

Well Ghost Rating is the fast way of earning a spot. In theory it would even be more accurate skillwise than a tournament.

And airborne, I already read your one from the forum and im not really interested in the variant at the moment, so i didn't mention it. But don't be discouraged.

some of you underestimate the number of venus for Diplomacy play... beyond webdip, playdip, FBdip, koreanwebdip, and stabenfru, there are a ton of PBEM sites including diplomaticcorp, the acadamy, cat23 (if its still around), + a ton of local community based FtF groups though they are not online platforms

trust me, at least 10 teams could be formed if all of these communities decided to participate.


but if they would allow us, I think we should be allowed to submit 2 teams ;) one for phpdiplomacy.net, and one for webdiplomacy.net hahaha ;)
