Well, the "fuck witted" part isn't.

I tried to gracefully bow out of a game when I was reduced to rubble from 7 SCs to 4 SCs. I chose to disband all my units sitting on SCs and only one unit I had left could cause any trouble to anyone.

I also posted a thank you for a great game in the general tab and told everyone how much fun it was, even if I got my clock cleaned at the end.

Before even seeing what units I disbanded, Maniac had to respond with "I'll believe it when you disband X and Y" and to make matters worse, "X and Y" were totally useless. disbanding them would have actually been better for me than what I did disband.

He made a mockery of my attempt to show a little class, so I will do everything in my power to avoid him in the future.

Draugnar, I don't believe what you did showed class. You had 4 centers left and chose to quit. As you readily admit above. I don't see that as classy in the least.

Well, now that you mention it, I can't seem to recall ever having met any paramecium that were *not* fick witted. And I've met a LOT of paramecium.

DJ, you are in this game and know it is a league position game. There was NO way I was going to be in the draw or win this, so why not bow out so you guys could finish it and get your League points, then focus on Game 4? this isn't PPSC or just any old game where a survive matters to my record. It's a league game and is an all or nothing kind of deal at this point in the league. I was recognizing the superior numbers in the game and my inability to fight them off. You should be happy I am bowing out. I'm not CDing, I'm not NMRing, I'm not forcing everyone to wait the full 25 hours.

Oh, and the odds were 4 against 13 because DjB decided to join the fuck wit in the fight against me. It was a lock as both were pissed at me, so I didn't have a chance.

The point that DJ was making I think is that everyone is honor-bound to fight it out as hard as they can to the end, no matter how low their chances of success are.

But maybe that's just my romantic side coming out ;)

Once a week or so, we get a forum thread from a newbie saying 'How do I quit a game?' It is always met with the same response; you don't, you play it out, you fight until the end, you hope someone else comes and saves you, you man up. Entering in all holds is no better than NMRing. It may not waste everyone's time as much, but the end result is the same. Don't kid yourself into thinking you were being honorable.

I wouldn't say "man up" since we have women here... but yeah the general idea is that you grit your teeth and delay, negotiate, and straight up fight with everything you have, no matter what.

It'd be one thing to make people *think* you were giving up, to draw them into some kind of trap, but that's just a clever way to try to save yourself given the right circumstances and a really gutsy player.

I wish your SC's weren't so easy for the German and Russia alliance. This hurts my efforts.
