Home page help

I'm trying to figure out what info to put on the home page for the new version, and it has had me a bit stumped for a while. It needs to display things like game notices which you now receive, PMs, plus a brief summary of the games you've joined and links to your recent/unread forum posts, plus some stats perhaps

If you could design a phpDip page that tried to summarize all the parts and tell you what was happening on the server, what would it look like?

Austria asked for abrupt pause without giving a return time. Reluctantly, in the spirit of sportsmanship the rest of the players agreed. Now he has returned, logged in several times, left a global message but refuses to unpause and is the only one who hasn't. Can you help us?

M-W-F Deadlines An interesting Option???

Would a turn deadline option of Monday-Wednesday-Friday with say GMT 23:59 be of interest, this way there are no deadlines during the weekend.?

Even though there have been a number of challenge games set up, I have not yet been able to join one where the other players have been ranked in the top ten or as near as possible: there has been a large gradient. As I missed out on the latest attempt, I will offer a new one but I will only start it if the total rankings add up to less than 36.

If you are interested, please leave a name below. It will probably take a little while to organise and I will keep bumping this thread.

Good luck just getting it going.

I very much doubt you can get anlari or cgwhite to play (doesn't play and has a new, busy job).

That means it needs to have MM, TMG and Silverwolf in order to happen.

I think MM will take it on. He likes points... TMG is busy but, allegedly, we meta-game, so if I play he plays... ; ) Silverwolf is an unknown quantity to me. Most welcome.

I have few games running and will be taken out in some of them this month (League and GFDT) so my own rating will slide. I will not be eligible for my own game soon...

Ah, excellent. I welcome those of you with high rankings to join us in this little affair. It will be WTA, of course, a long enough turn time to satisfy Jacob, and a pot be decided. I prefer tiny pots, but am willing to discuss this. However, I will not set a pot that would stop someone from playing.

Flash, if this starts in the last week of July, then I would be in. My rating is currently #09 in the last monthly TGM rankings. I can't do it now as I'm struggling with work for at least another 14 days, but if you would be prepared to delay it, I'd be up for it.

Even if you get 1-2-3-4-5-8-14, that's 37, so unless you relax the requirement, Ivo_ won't be able to play with Jacob already signed up.

Going for CD in 1901..and knowing it from the beginning!

In two of my games one player posted a global message (the same player in both games, by the way) that he has shared too many matches and asked to pause the game. If we do not accept, he will go into CD by not entering orders...

Beside the "bad style" of this, is there any option to handle it? Like let him leave the game and searching for some other player? It is still spring 1901 Diplomacy in both games, so I think that would be a good idea!

More messed up orders

Happened again. Since this was a game-ending move, and a mini-backstab against a fairly powerful ally, there is no doubt I entered and finalized the order correctly, and the error is pretty much a disaster.
