GoT Variant?
I recently started watching Game of Thrones, and as you can imagine it reminded me of this wretched game quite a bit. Has anyone thought of making a variant based on Westeros? Does one already exist?

Bernie Sanders kicked out of hippie commune for laziness
http://freebeacon.com/politics/bernie-sanders-asked-leave-hippie-commune/

Raises the question in my mind of what will be done (if anything) with people who refuse to work in the socialist society Bernie and his supporters wish to impose. Forced labor camps? Expulsion from the country? Revocation of their EBT card and Section 8 subsidies? Or nothing?

People who refuse to work will be guaranteed the right to live. They will live much better than they do in the current socialist society that Bill, George, Barack and their supporters have imposed.

Glad the so called libertarians of the world are much more concerned about Bernie Sanders than police actively killing unarmed people or the state surveillance of religious minorities that their right-wing allies support. Makes you wonder what on earth libertarian actually meaner other than servile supporter of the powerful.

Unwillingness to work is a symptom of mental instability. It does not however exclude someone from basic human rights: right to breathe clean air, right to be afforded minimum needs to survive, and the right to an education.

People talk about Social Democracy as if the majority of Europe must be overrun with a handout mentality. The role of government is to take care of its people. Not just the wealthy.

Which is why you attack BLM and write supportive posts about virulently anti Muslim politicians running for president in the GOP.
Putin33 (111 D)

Oh wait police violence is bad but BLM must be attacked anyway because they have silly ideas like the notion that the justice system is unfair to minorities, which you can't stomach. White people are the only ones allowed to talk about being targeted or to bring race up, understood.

"write supportive posts about virulently anti Muslim politicians running for president in the GOP."

When have I done this? I assume you're talking about Trump. Here, again, I was writing anti-Trump posts on this forum long before it became cool. He has said some off-the-cuff statements occasionally about foreign policy I find agreeable, but I don't trust the man enough to think he actually believes any of it, much less would act on it if he became president.

"Oh wait police violence is bad but BLM must be attacked anyway because they have silly ideas like the notion that the justice system is unfair to minorities, which you can't stomach."

You're crazy. The BLM believes in fairness to minorities? Is that why they've been seizing land from Indian ranchers, too? Maybe they've been doing it in a racially proportionate way, who knows... apparently Putin has statistics on BLM land seizures by race of victim, and they meet with his approval as Commissar for Racial Justice by Land Expropriation.
leon1122 (190 D)

Not surprising, considering the man didn't work until he was 40. And Tolstoy is right: BLM is good in name only. Its actions are almost always counter to it's supposed message of equality.

The conspiranoids have been convinced since Hayek wrote the Road to Serfdom that any public spending whatsoever leads straight to concentration camps, which is why the go hysterical over any mild government project but yet act blase about actual government repression.
TrPrado (461 D)
25 Apr 16 UTC
Putin: That may be the case of others, but Tolstoy has been pretty consistent about his opposition to government operations. During the Ferguson events, I believe he was the one who wrote the most scathing critique of police militarization. When Islamaphobes come on the forum with whatever citation of something that happened under some Muslim ruler, Tolstoy fires back against them with probably the greatest knowledge of Islamic history of anyone on this forum. He comes to the side of minorities. He comes to the side of anyone that can be construed as oppressed by the government more consistently than any of the rest of us.
Also, Fireplay, not 100% on the thing about living in Germany? They don't have forced labor or working for non-monetary incentive, or socialism, or any of that. They're considerably capitalistic. They don't even claim to be socialistic.
leon1122 (190 D)

Fiedler, the event show flaw in the fundamental character of Bernie Sanders. Even by the hippie standards, which aren't known to be particularly stringent, Sanders was a lazy bum that prefers to complain and blame all his problems on the government not giving him free stuff rather than actually work to improve his conditions.
TrPrado (461 D)

"How else to get everyone to work without monetary incentive than forced labor?"
If your only incentive to do work is money, then you're managing your life pretty poorly and will end up very miserable. It's important for one to feed one's family, but if there's no intrinsic motivation for a job, there's less drive to do it. Sanders wasn't cut out for physical labor or communism. He's a bureaucrat, and there's nothing wrong with that. He's a legislator. To each their own. You don't expect business execs to put in hard labor in a hippy commune, why would you expect it from a politician?
leon1122 (190 D)
25 Apr 16 UTC
It's not about my incentive... it's about society as a whole. Fact of the matter is, there are many people who would rather be, say, a video game tester than an office worker. If they are paid the same, who would choose the latter?

I don't expect Sanders to perform physical labor, although it is questionable what he was doing in a hippie camp if he wasn't prepared to. However, I do expect him to contribute somehow. Instead, as I mentioned earlier, he didn't work at all until he was 40, when he became a politician. http://spectator.org/blog/65498/bernie-sanders-didnt-make-paycheck-until-he-turned-40

You dont actually expect us to swallow this tripe do you? Sanders is absolutely not a mooch. He paid more in taxes this last year then the entire GE corporation.

"I don't expect Sanders to perform physical labor... However, I do expect him to contribute somehow." Forced labor expects people to contribute as well. Strange. And in both situations, your ideal and in forced labor, people are just cogs in the economic machine. The American value of individualism is largely being overlooked. Individuals can't make their own way if you demand them to contribute in this way. One should be reminded, he had spent the previous years of his life as an activist, taking part in major movements and promoting them. You don't need to be paid to be considered as contributing.
TrPrado (461 D)
25 Apr 16 UTC
Also, video game testers make barely less than typical office jobs, and are barely less monotonous.
leon1122 (190 D)

@brainbomb Source please? I searched your statement and couldn't come up with anything. On the other hand, when I searched "Bernie Sanders tax", the first result was http://www.forbes.com/sites/ryanellis/2016/04/19/bernie-sanders-tax-return-has-some-odd-deductions/#40 D4765d28cb, which links to http://www.nationalreview.com/article/434194/bernie-sanders-tax-returns-reveal-hypocrisy.

@TrPrado I expect him to contribute if he wants to feed and shelter himself. Instead, he mooched off of others. Of course he has a right to be an activist, but when he puts that ahead of actually finding a paying job, then he comes off as a lazy bum to me. He couldn't complain about the unfair economy when he was part of the problem.

Video game testers make $18,000-$55,000. (http://www.gameindustrycareerguide.com/video-game-tester-salary/#overview) That's considerably less than even an entry level accountant (http://www1.salary.com/Accountant-I-Salaries.html)

Accountancy is a profession that requires a degree. QA testers don't.
Now if you made a comparison between accountancy and software engineering, maybe you would have a point.

Hm, strange, leon, your source about Sanders' lack of non-government work cites a source that describes his work prior to Mayor of Burlington. He registered people for food stamps, he was a carpenter, and he was a freelance writer. In fact, his time in the commune in OP was spent so that he could write an article. Having read it, he was kicked out for being distracting, not because he wouldn't work. It's strange what you'll find when you actually read.

Just a basic question!
What does voting to 'Cancel' mean? what do you cancel when you vote for it?
And, how does Pause work? when you pause, how do you resume the game? is it paused for a specific amount of time or do you vote to un-pause later?

First Time Prom.
Help me WebDip, you're my only hope.

Seriously, though, I am a male junior, and found out today that the person on my mind has me on hers. Prom is in 2 weeks. I have not asked her, and fear that the window has shut on this opportunity. Even if I did go (all my buddies want me to go) I would have no idea what to do, what to say, or where to go.
