GoT Variant?
I recently started watching Game of Thrones, and as you can imagine it reminded me of this wretched game quite a bit. Has anyone thought of making a variant based on Westeros? Does one already exist?

Bernie Sanders kicked out of hippie commune for laziness
http://freebeacon.com/politics/bernie-sanders-asked-leave-hippie-commune/

Raises the question in my mind of what will be done (if anything) with people who refuse to work in the socialist society Bernie and his supporters wish to impose. Forced labor camps? Expulsion from the country? Revocation of their EBT card and Section 8 subsidies? Or nothing?

The Trump Effect
Recently I've been hearing several left leaning souls start talking about the likelihood of them voting Trump now that the Bern has been all but extinguished. What I am curious about is why. What is it about Trump that makes him the lesser of two evils?

Just a basic question!
What does voting to 'Cancel' mean? what do you cancel when you vote for it?
And, how does Pause work? when you pause, how do you resume the game? is it paused for a specific amount of time or do you vote to un-pause later?

First Time Prom.
Help me WebDip, you're my only hope.

Seriously, though, I am a male junior, and found out today that the person on my mind has me on hers. Prom is in 2 weeks. I have not asked her, and fear that the window has shut on this opportunity. Even if I did go (all my buddies want me to go) I would have no idea what to do, what to say, or where to go.

ask her out, if she says yes, go. then dance with her, eat food, drink drinks. if your friends are worth a damn theyll have dates and will likely do an after party... go. then if you are into trying to get some nookie on the first date don't be awkward about it. if not (which is better) then have fun with her and maybe turn it into something cool going into your senior year.*drops mic*

Ask her. It's painless, I promise. Don't be weird and don't do anything over the top, just straight up ask her. When you're there, do as CB suggested. Be casual. If you need a tux, they're easy to find cheap at thrift stores and places like that this time of year or you can rent one. Ask her sooner rather than later because she needs to get a dress and that's a fucking process, trust me.

Don't consider it a date. If you like her after prom, ask her out. If you don't, don't.

Serious advice: if, as I assume, you and/or her have never experimented with alcohol or drugs or anything like that, *don't*. Prom night is basically the one night where you're gonna get caught.

Less serious but equally important advice: if you suck at dancing, do it anyway. Just let loose. You'll have a lot more fun with her if you're not trying to come up with excuses to stay off the floor the whole time.

So just to give you some perspective. Nobody else knows what they are doing their first time going to prom either. Everyone is going "what the fuck should I do?!"

So just go ask her, and try and have a good time.

Also, if you ask her and for whatever reason she says no, don't do any of the following:

• beg
• cry
• plead
• become angry
• become violent
• etc.

If she wants to go with you, she'll say yes. If she doesn't, you wouldn't have a good time anyway.

Save your pride and don't do it.
I think the most interesting part of this discussion is why you would ask it here? Like if you wanted to know about China's posturing in the east Chinese sea, or whether Legolas or Putin would win in a a fight, this would be the place to ask. However, not sure what you wanted from this discussion. These are good answers, but pretty generic.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Prom is generic.

Perigrine Falcon clearly never met Conservative Man.
Conservative Man got a lot of much needed advice here.

My advice would mirror Commander's. Just do it. Depending upon the situation, girls won't read too much into a prom date either, so don't consider it like you're asking them out on a date. And the earlier the better. Ask her before someone else does.
@ghug
I must say I haven't. That was before my forum days. Did he ask for a lot of personal advice?

Blackjack, please heed my words: It is not too late. Ask her to go, if she says yes, great. If she says no, go anyway and dance with several girls including her. Be a gentlemen and have fun and you will have no regrets. Taking no action may cause regrets. Creating memories is better than creating regrets. Nuff said. Go for it.

The window hasn't closed. You can find fun things to do if you put your mind to it. Don't rationalize your insecurities; confront them, and plow through them, and do the things you want to do.
"Did he ask for a lot of personal advice?"

Oh lord did he ever. I wish we still had his threads. I'm trying to remember them. I think one time he was asking for advice because he ~15 and wiring money to a cam girl via Western Union to get her to come see him. Something along those lines.

End of term school disco, eh? Don't worry about looking a tit. That's pretty much inevitable. Obviously you should ask her. Worst that can happen is she says no. If you don't ask the best that can happen are two weeks of misery and regret, and the nagging feeling that you may be something of a cowardly cowardly custard.

Best not to have more than a couple of pints, and avoid spirits like the plague.

I'm fairly certain CM once asked us if he should practice asking girls out by paying a prostitute.

Oh, and just ask her out.

If you fail to ask her out, you will be regretting it for a very long time, that you did not have the guts to ask. This is much worse than getting a "no".

If you don't ask her out someone else will. Even worse than being shot down is watching the girl you like fall for another guy because you didn't have the stones to speak up when she liked you.

Nobody marries their prom date. It's not the end of the world if you don't go. They're overpriced and kind of silly anyway. Study for your finals instead.

I was probably playing Dungeons and Dragons or Battletech on prom night. That's what all the cool kids did back in my day. At least that's what I tell myself so I can sleep at night.

Also worth it to buy your own clothes. Get it tailored even. You can use the suit for job interviews and more worthwhile parties. So just tell your parents you're going to prom anyway to get the threads. Can always claim you were stood up. The male race is too slovenly these days.

I think this article raises interesting questions about tue performance of masculinity: survival skills, reverence for 'back to nature' thinking, inner city violence... Never mind sexuality.

Hello guys, I´m intending to do a Modern Diplomacy Game with 5 teams. 10 players, but without any communications inside de game. The only way to communication is talking to this real person by email, whatsapp, etc.
But to have equation, balance, one should have just another guy in his team. Not a 3 person team. This will work? ANyone want to participate?
