I'm running in Cannock Chase and my personal manifesto is to give homeless people the right-to-buy their cardboard boxes and to ask pensioners to do voluntary work or lose part of their pension and winter fuel allowance.

I also propose other bat-crazy ideas like building 500,000 council houses by 2020, renationalising the railways, abolishing the House of Lords, introducing a fairer voting system, becoming a republic, keeping NHS is public hands and doing everything we can to save the planet.

I mentioned this to a climate change skeptic and he said 'what if we build a better society and then find out climate change is a myth?'. My head's still spinning but I'm sure I'll think of a snappy response soon.

Yes HR I'm going to make them all myself from papier mache. Bizarrely the Green house build policy makes sense when explained properly - as NB failed to do. By abolishing landlords tax relief on interest payments and then funding the building from rent receipts it is achievable. Yes it means borrowing up front, but interest rates are low for UK at the moment and the building boom will create extra jobs, tax revenues etc. The market hasn't resolved the house building crisis over last 30+ years so radical action needs looking at. Back in 1940-50s Tory governments oversaw 250,000 council house starts every year.

@jeffKuta - yeah I asked the Monster Raving Loony party if I could stand for them and they turned me down. Apparently I'm first person ever to be turned down by them. I said I'd pay my own deposit and everything.
@dyager - that would actually save some time. If I do get elected by some fluke I've vowed to refer to the Queen as mrs Windsor, apparently you can be excluded from the chamber for doing such things - true story, I'm not making this crazy stuff up.

No, but you do lower speed limits, build new speed cameras, introduce new congestion charges, ban having a pint and driving, increase fuel duty with the intention of putting people off driving, and greatly increase parking charges. As well as working to ban diesel. I've read the manifesto, you see :p

May I use th opportunity how bad and undemocratic the British (a the US, for that matter) voting system is undemocratic and bad? It leads to under/overrepresentation of parties.
