Hey all,

I know you probably don't give a crap. I don't expect you to really. I just want to vent about how inadequate the mods are. Me and a group of four friends live in the same house. We played the actual board a lot and we loved the game. We found out a number of us were going to be moving very soon, but we still wanted a way to do fun things together. We found this site.

Urgent news from Devil-elopers
See Inside: The webDip Dev-e team has taken great pleasure in anouncing a possibly new feature for the site. Soon players may be able to list their relationship status and commit to in-game marriage. We here at webDipDev-e take great pride in our work and are excited to see how the community enjoys the new developments. - questions should be directed to myself, the webDip Dev-e chairman Mao, in my PM.

Blind Diplomacy Gunboat EOG
After 16 in-game years (4 months real time) the Blind Diplomacy Gunboat game has ended, with Austria (Chumbles) achieving a 19SC victory!

Maps can be found here: http://imgur.com/a/fG0MI

Final results:
Austria (Chumbles): Solo Victory, 19 SCs
England (Nodnyl): Survive, 11 SCs
Germany (OB_Gyn_Kenobi): Survive, 3 SCs
Russia (Thomas dullan): Survive, 1 SC
Italy (Valis2501): Eliminated, Builds 1914
Turkey (Jamiet99uk): Eliminated, Autumn Retreats 1914
France (Blue Baboon): Eliminated, Builds 1909

For anyone who didn't see the sign up thread in December, Blind Diplomacy is a variant where you have extremely limited information - you are only told the location of your units each phase, which units need to retreat in each retreat phase, and what SCs you own in the build phase.

Thanks to all players for participating - it was very fun to watch and GM! Please feel free to give thoughts on the variant and on the game in this thread.

I will not be running any more games of this variant, as I received a significant amount of feedback saying that it's not fun to play if you're behind, but I will be looking to run different SRGs in future so please keep an eye out for those and sign up if you're interested :)

Kudes to Cap'n for putting in a ton of effort to running the game. More thoughts on the variant and a real EOG to come.

Yes, well done Captain, a splendid job. Sorry about all the mis-orders which you had to alert me to. An interesting idea and one which only a genius like Chumbles was able to cope with.
Well done all for staying the course.

Thanks to all for an interesting was it really four months.
Special thanks to Captainmeme for all the time he must have spent running a game for this long, congratulations Chumbles for a decisive win. Thanks to everyone else for sticking it out to the end.

Brilliant job by the Cap'n. No praise too much... And well done too everyone else for keeping at it. It took soooo long to chase down units at the end; constantly recasting the moves and working out where units could be. At one point I got totally stuck, Thomas, trying to get at your position, and I became paranoid that a unit was loose behind my lines. So three game years were used just trying to probe for enemy units. But then it was shit or bust, take a risk time and that paid off by getting a unit loose behind Russian lines. On the Italian side, a great and persistent defence by a good player made it so sloooow there. Loosened by England - I'd already guessed that a Fleet based England was prospering in the W, from the voting and the fact that no units were coming from the North. Well fought everyone, and I for one would love to have another go. Thanks once again to the indefatigable Captain.

Just an idea... a variation on this would be playing this, but at the start the GM would notify you of the country you were playing, and the names of the other players, BUT not which country they were playing. In a similar game I was once conned by someone discussing moves with me, agreeing a strategy and he wasn't even playing in the game... *blush*

World Hypocrisy about Arab Deaths
The world isn't condemning the Saudi Arabia led attacks into Yemen at the same level as when Israel defended itself against Hamas. Going after the enemy, they have hit hospitals, schools, a refugee camp and neighborhoods, according to U.N. officials. This is without being threaten, but just to prevent Iran from going in power.

Hypothetical
What if a country were to get to 18 SCs, but a retreats phase would let one of his opponents retreat into one of his SCs? would he win automatically, or do the retreats count?
