Gunboat lovers, unite
Coming back from a slight hiatus, I'm looking for a gunboat game, WTA / 36h. Who's in? If there's enough interest, I'd like to start another series in the Tournament / Biggest Loser vein.

News sources
I'm giving up on the BBC. I used to think the BBC was a half-decent source of *relatively* unbiased news, but I realise that's no longer the case and may not have been for some time.

Russia Replacement in Classic Diplomacy-33
Hello everyone, we're looking for a Russia replacement in a high quality classic, anon, WTA game. Russia has a good strategic and (probably?) diplomatic position. The board is very even at 8-8-6-6-6 and the global chat decided it would be better to continue this amusing game rather than other options; there's no password on it and it is currently paused.

Altering the game for Italy?
In light of expert opinion such as this, "In a high-standard game, I would put Italy's chances of winning at zero, I'm afraid." The Game of Diplomacy by Richard Sharp, has there ever been serious consideration to altering the classic game to give Italy: i) two fleets instead of one to start, ii) another close-by neutral sc, or iii) some other incremental advantage?

A situation in chess: There is a checkmate in eleven moves. For a Grandmaster only logical, for e.g. a Boxer a holy Sangraal. He will never understand the logic behind it, he would say: "That isn't logic, I don't understand it..."
Yoyoyozo (65 D)

There is a checkmate in two moves but that doesn't prove your point. How can a number, the mathematical representation of quantity, "fuse" with another number? You mean by addition? Well that make your statement either incorrect or illogical. Choose one.

depends if this is directional vector math or not.
orathaic (1009 D(B))
02 Dec 14 UTC
or set theory; 1 = #({B; x ∊ B ∀ x = b}), (ie the set B where x is an element of B for all possible x when x = b) and 1 also = #({C; x ∊ C ∀ x = b})

Then with + and the Union operator, #B + #C = #(B∪C) = 1 (union being another way of saying fusion. (similar to what jmo said, if it is vector math, then you are using a different notational meaning for +)

@the above -- in other words, if you redefine all the symbols to mean things they are not used to mean, then it's true.

Incredible!
semck83 (229 D(B))
02 Dec 14 UTC
(For example, you never use the symbol 1 to refer to the zero vector, and if 1 + v = 1, then v must be 0, no matter what vector "1" refers to. So, no, this is not true in a vector context).

I still learn, two years aren't enough, I know that. I speak two eastern foreign language well beside my native language. Isn't it better for people like me or maybe for wavering people to stay out of this site and come again when they have reached your claims or at least be quiet as long as? The logic is akin to this:
I have two balls of silly putty.
I smush them together.
How many balls of silly putty do I have?
One.
One ball of silly putty added to another ball of silly putty = one ball of silly putty.
Of course my new ball of silly putty is bigger than either of the original balls.
But if we are only counting the number of balls we have just produced a situation were 1+1=1

Death of Tamir Rice
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-30172433
A 12-year-old, Tamir Rice, was shot by a police officer on Saturday. Rice was pointing a fake gun at citizens in a park, so police were called. The officer mistook it for a real gun, and asked Rice to put his hands up. Instead, Rice reached for the airsoft gun, which didn't have the orange tip to distinguish it as such, and was shot twice by the officer and died the following morning. Discuss

Affiliate marketing for webhosting: What sounds more appealing/is best?
Discount? Free months? Extra space/bandwidth? Extra site for free/discount? Credits to spend on services? Simply a tiny amount of money paid out to you? Some combination?

What would make you most likely to try to get me customers? What's best for me? How much per paying customer should I offer? Should I offer several options?
