Anyone working on cutting edge science, that is not top secret?
Pretty much what it says on the tin.

The webdip forumites tend to be more educated, or just smarter, than your average person, but are there also scientists around here?

What are you guys doing on these forums?!
As I critically look through these forums, I'm basically seeing a lot of emotionally disturbed people arguing to no end... Sad...

You know, you guys can talk about diplomacy if you want. :)

I must say that I like it... People always say that you shouldn't talk about religion or politics...but aren't they the only things worth actually talking about? Small talk is for small minds.

Agree to some point, small talk is for smal minds.
But arguing politics/religion on forums is just plain stupid.

About diplomacy, I dislake england and italy :(

Talking about nothing but diplomacy the game is like analyzing the finer points of hopscotch. At some point there is nothing left to discuss. There are only so many moves you can do.
Krediax (125 D)
11 Mar 14 UTC

Thats like saying chess has only so many moves.
You never run out of material to discuss with a complex game like diplomacy (and chess, i like chess).
Putin33 (111 D)
11 Mar 14 UTC
(+1)
Chess has more openings than 3 or 4 per side.

The point of diplomacy is not tactics anyway. The main aspect of gameplay is completely contingent and based on interpersonal relations/persuasion/ deception, which arguing about politics & history is good practice for anyway.
Krediax (125 D)

About diplomacy:
What do you guys think about my (england) third move in

especially A nor move to yor.
Krediax (125 D)

Chess has more openings than 3 or 4 per side.

I agree, but the more moves into the game you get the more posibilities there are, the more moves there are possible the more discussions we could have.
Putin33 (111 D)

Ok very well, obviously there's a cottage industry for analyzing particular games or sports to death. I just find it rather dull. I just don't get why certain people have to shame everybody else into doing it and nothing else. It's like forcing people to listen to people argue about whether a run or a pass play was more optimal in a 3rd down and 5 with 11:52 to go in the 3rd quarter on the road with 15 mph winds. Certainly there are people who would like to discuss something else and I'm getting rather tired of having to justify doing so to the Diplomacariat every couple of weeks.

The best part is, if you don't like what's talked about, don't partake.

But no we have to have these obligatory shame-fests from the diplomatists if anyone dares say anything non-diplomacy related. I bet their kitchen drawers are full of single-use items and they never discuss food at a sporting event or while shopping for shoes.

Putin33 (111 D)

You might find it boring to discuss posiblities, but that does not mean everybody does. I for one enjoy that kind of thinking. Maybe even play out a litille game in our minds with if (example:) russia does A Aus does B an then tur does C leaving Rus open to D. But if Rus does E Aus is forced to do F etc. etc. etc.

Indeed. Ask questions such as "If you're France with 2 builds after the first year and want to invade England, how many of those builds must be fleets?" (to which the answer, of course, is none) and see what responses you get

Cant really say anything to contradict with that.
Live and let live basicly, making a ton of topics about it seems pointless but this is the first one i`ve seen so sorry that i missed a lot ;) But te recap about at the first response always talking about politics/ religions seems to be just as pointless..
To recap at Putin`s first response, diplomacy can not be compared o "hopscotch", and if you want to you can never run out of stuff to talk about diplomacy, contary to the point you were making.

RIP Bob Crow
There are not many people who achieve as big an impact on the lives and minds of the British people as Bob Crow. I did not often agree with him, indeed I can't remember ever agreeing with him, but he was without doubt a man of principle who fought tirelessly for his beliefs and earned no small amount of respect. Rest in peace.

Need two players for a solid full-press game.
We're looking for two reliable players—either with no CDs or with very few CDs that can be explained away—to fill out gameID=137177. We’ve played several games together with largely the same group (a few rotate in and out each game), and they've all been good games with lots of press. They're pretty balanced as well--no solos yet.
