I know it's a few days late, but I thought it'd be nice to have a thread to appreciate a great baseball player's remarkable achievement, even if he is a Yankee now. Ichiro is awesome.

Local minimum wage
How local should minimum wage be? I just read something about minimum wage in Holland, but the costs of living in Amsterdam are certainly higher than on the countryside no?

It's good to be back!
Hey everyone! Not sure if anyone remembers me, I wasn't an especially vocal member, but after an eight month sabbatical, I'm looking to get started back up in diplomacy. Would anyone be interested in a 2-day phase game, probably a 100 point buy-in? If so, post in this thread, and I'll send you a PM with a password on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ben Affleck as Batman
It just breaks my Comicbook loving heart. I just can't see Affleck being a good Batman. Oh and the kicker is he's going to help write the movie (the Superman/Batman one) and is signed for multiple movies.

Daily Quote (Does Anyone like this Idea?)
So I am kind of new to the forums in that I have never posted anything and mostly just read what everyone is saying when it interests me. Since I saw there was a daily bible reading I figured I could start up a daily quote.

If someone is already doing this let me know as I don't want to steal their idea.

I enjoy collecting quotes and have plenty to share that I think many of you would enjoy. I try to find ones that you could relate to a diplomacy game, but sometimes they are just meant for inspiration.
I will try to leave the political/religiously biased quotes out if that bothers anyone. (If it's about any of those topics as a whole, and not unfairly selective, then I will share it)

I think kramerkov's point was that he would post quotes from his collection, right? Perhaps other people posting quotes would wish to create another thread.
kramerkov18 (1570 D)
10 Aug 13 UTC
I did mean that, but I don't really mind. If I'm only posting one a day I figure everyone else can just piggy back off the thread if they want to.

"Power must be analyzed as something which circulates, or rather as something which only functions in the form of a chain. It is never localised here or there, never in anybody’s hands, never appropriated as a commodity or piece of wealth. Power is employed and exercised through a net-like organization. And not only do individuals circulate between its threads; they are always in the position of simultaneously undergoing and exercising this power. They are not only its inert or consenting target; they are always also the elements of its articulation. In other words, individuals are the vehicles of power, not its points of application."
