I know it's a few days late, but I thought it'd be nice to have a thread to appreciate a great baseball player's remarkable achievement, even if he is a Yankee now. Ichiro is awesome.

Local minimum wage
How local should minimum wage be? I just read something about minimum wage in Holland, but the costs of living in Amsterdam are certainly higher than on the countryside no?

It's good to be back!
Hey everyone! Not sure if anyone remembers me, I wasn't an especially vocal member, but after an eight month sabbatical, I'm looking to get started back up in diplomacy. Would anyone be interested in a 2-day phase game, probably a 100 point buy-in? If so, post in this thread, and I'll send you a PM with a password on a first-come, first-served basis.

Most of the weapons used in mass shootings in the U.S. are obtained LEGALLY.

The overwhelming majority of gun deaths in the US are NOT mass shooting. Just sayin'..

So what's your point, fucktard?

http://www2.macleans.ca/2012/12/18/guns-notorious-for-use-in-canadian-mass-shootings-still-not-prohibited/

If the fuckings Canadians would get their guns under control so they didn't have any mass shootings, then maybe FuckTard Candians would have a right to complain.

As it is...they are just typical douchwads...

You're boring, mapleleaf.

How about not mass shooting? Out of annual amount of illigal shooting how much is from illigal firearms?
krellin (80 DX)
26 Aug 13 UTC
As for *why* Canada has fewer shooting than US....how about we just have a far larger population AND population density...i.e. we have 10 times more people per square mile...dense populations are naturally going to have more problems than rural...if you can't see your neighbor, it's hard to shoot him.

http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_population_density

Canada 8.8 people per square mile
US 82 people per square mile.

I know you are too much of a FuckTard to actually look at anything rationally...but I'm sure others will agree this is a mitigating factor.

Oh look everybody.

kkkrellin just woke up out of his alcoholic stupor.

Nope. No gun problem in the Excited States, just lotsa FREEDOM.

I hear the over/under on the next school shooting is 16.....as in days.

I want the under.

U.S.A.!!!! U.S.A.!!!! U.S.A.!!!!
Draugnar (0 DX)

That article has some provably false statements in it. The guns used were legal to own, but it doesn't point out that, in most of the cases, the shooter wasn't the legal owner. In fact, the Bushmaster Lanza used was *not his*.

Sept 10 is day 16, and the push. No lunatic will want to compete with Sept 11 so that day is safe. I really like the under. You stupid child-murdering americans leaving guns all over the place doesn't hurt either.
Draugnar (0 DX)
26 Aug 13 UTC
Here is one for you. Eight mass shootings in 2013 in a nation of 320 million 320 million people. That is one incidents per 40 million people. Canada's entire population is only 34 million people. Canada had one in Quebec. Seems Canada has more mass shootings per populace than the US. Who are the baby killers again?

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2012/12/18/canada-gun-laws-mass-shootings-semi-automatic_n_2325843.html

And it seems Canada is not so good at banning the weapons used by their mass murderers either.

You mean stupid CHILD MURDERING CANADIANS, right Fucktard.

And...as for the attempted slam on my prior alcoholism...<yawn> I have been fairly open with this community about both my problems, and my recovery, and I openly thank people like Draug who was supportive of me...and called me out...when I was stumbling and crashing hard. I don't mind your mockery...but it is obvious for what it is...the precise, low class behavior we would expect from a Canadian. So...feel free to continue...it only lowers your credibility with the rest of the community that are very aware of my past and subsequent recovery.

I have had my issues with people like Jamie...but when it comes to his health, I put down my weapons and support a brother in need. No such class apparently exists in Canada...but then again...you have a serous gun problem in Canada to. Hell, 8 people per square mile and you asshole STILL bump each other off. THAT's fucked up, man.
Draugnar (0 DX)

"Look at Europe. Population density clearly doesn't mean more shootings."

Look at Switzerland with a *higher* gun ownership per capita than the US. Gun ownership doesn't result in criminal usage. That's the point. Outlaw guns and only the outlaws will have guns.
krellin (80 DX)
26 Aug 13 UTC
Take away shootings and look at *violent crime*....I'll bet you Europe is on par with violence. This getting hung up on "killed with a gun" versus killed "by other means" is a false dichotomy...dead is fucking dead, and this is a bogus argument to focus on guns anyway. It's the argument of the *weak minded*
krellin (80 DX)
26 Aug 13 UTC
I'll go one further....take away the Inner Cities of the United States....hell, take away a specific culture in the United States...and gun violence drops *severely*.

But nobody wants to confront that very real truth. People want to paint "US Culture"...but that is a *bullshit* argument as well. There are plenty of sub-cultures in the US...and when it is time for quotas and set-asides and special scholarships, everyone want to talk about this culture or that. When you want to talk about VIOLENCE and murder? Oh....no subcultures allowed...we're all Americans.

Fuck that. We all know where the problem with murder *predominantly* lies in the US...but nobody has the balls to say it except maybe Bill Cosby. Pathetic.

It just breaks my Comicbook loving heart. I just can't see Affleck being a good Batman. Oh and the kicker is he's going to help write the movie (the Superman/Batman one) and is signed for multiple movies.

How I would save the US if I would rule the country.
1. kill Sbyvl.
2. kill Emac.
3. disband the forces sent to places no one wants them. That'd be pretty much anywhere except maybe South Korea and in America and surrounding seas of course.

Daily Quote (Does Anyone like this Idea?)
So I am kind of new to the forums in that I have never posted anything and mostly just read what everyone is saying when it interests me. Since I saw there was a daily bible reading I figured I could start up a daily quote.

If someone is already doing this let me know as I don't want to steal their idea.
