Serious question......
....... if there was a training course on things such as personal development, self-awareness, self-confidence, public speaking, etc, etc what aspects of this (if any) would help you in your life ?
What things do you think would help people be more effective ?

Which dumbass thought we should call everyone who isn't white "People of Colour"?
1. Black isn't a colour.
2. White is all colours.
3. White people change colour when cold, ashamed, hot, sick, dead, and they're born pretty red. Black people stay black.
"People of colour" is probably the most offensive way to call black people, right before "nigger".

Hey everyone - I'm starting up a run of the New World Order variant. This is a 50+ player global map. the game has special rules that mean it has to be adjudicated by hand. The map can be seen here: http:// imgur . com/Hu9iF0n

Hello all
Its been a while. I'd like to play some quality gunboat games for old times sake. I'd like to be at least 101 point buy in. 24-36 hour phases so everyone has time to get moves in. etc. This is sort of an invitational so I'd like to get some good players to play against.

Why do people play Gunboat?
I'm not denouncing the game mode here. I was just wondering why people want to play Diplomacy without the negotiation aspect. To me, it seems to defeat the purpose of playing the game. I would be happy if someone could clarify this for me.

Why are there non anonymous games?
Since meta gaming is strictly prohibited and frowned upon I have to say I see no benefit to having non anonymous games. All it does is allow people to carry grudges or othe stuff from past games rather than playing the game at hand. Similarly, there seems to be no clear reason why usernames can't also change

The point being made is that at least women are formally equal and it is at least possible for a woman to do anything a man can in society. Can you really imagine an Arab state having three women foreign ministers almost in a row, like the United States did with Albright-Rice-Clinton? Or a woman at the top of the corporate pyramid like Meg Whitman? It might be still be exceptional in the West, but at least it happens. The same CANNOT be said about the condition of women elsewhere.

The point is they are still better off than under Shiara Law.
Amon Savag (929 D)

Women have had rights for a while in the USA. Since then the government has more and more catered to the foolish masses more out of compassion over common sense. Learn from us, Arabs. Follow the example of the west, Arabs, and you too can have governments that are constantly closer and closer to bankruptcy with no possible way of reversing the situation.
Jamiet99uk (1302 D)
26 Jan 14 UTC
What are you babbling about, Amon? Are you suggesting that giving women equal rights leads to financial ruin? How are these two issues linked in your analysis?
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jan 14 UTC
Interestingly, before women "got their rights", most households in the US were able to subsist on a single income. Then along comes the ridiculous notion that the womyn's have to be free and vote and all the crap, and suddenly most households struggle on two incomes...

just sayin...
Jamiet99uk (1302 D)
26 Jan 14 UTC
What are you sayin? What exactly is your point?

Before the concentration camps were abolished by those leftist American troops, most Jews were able to subsist on a single piece of bread per day. Then along comes this ridiculous notion that we shouldn't slaughter an entire race of people, and suddenly we have to have a menorah in City Hall because we have one Jewish family in the neighborhood.
Putin33 (111 D)
26 Jan 14 UTC
"How are these two issues linked in your analysis?"

If I were to hazard a guess, it'd be thus:

Women voting means more electoral support for Entitlements and other social spending, which leads to "bankruptcy". This theory might work in the USA, but not in the UK where women have tended to vote Tory.

Also nevermind that taxes are at an all-time low.

"What are you sayin? What exactly is your point?"

That no-fault divorce plus women in the workplace led to more financial independence for women and thus fewer women wanted to put up with bad marriages - > leading to more divorce and consequentially, financial struggles.

There, I can speak rightwing-ese.

Putin33 (111 D)

"The same CANNOT be said about the condition of women elsewhere."

Pakistan had a woman lead their country. The USA hasn't.

Just want to point that out, since you seem to think such an occurrence is unthinkable. I know Pakistan is not an Arab state, but their Deobandi-ish brand of Islam is pretty conservative so I think the example is applicable.

Invictus (240 D)

True enough. A part of the reason why I said Arab. Keep in mind she was the scion of the most powerful political family in Pakistan, though. If Caroline Kennedy were as competent as Benazir Bhutto was we may have already had a woman president.

At any rate, my point's still valid. In the West women can and do occupy powerful, important positions throughout society. Not at a parity to men by any means, but they're there. That is not the case elsewhere.

Oh, and Nigee, whenever you complain about an existing solution to a major problem, you should come armed with another solution or else you will come off as a dickhead and won't be taken seriously. Go like some "awareness" posts on facebook so you can pretend you're solving the worlds problems and leave us in peace.
Amon Savag (929 D)
27 Jan 14 UTC
Women don't think the same way men do, it's proven. Thus, they cannot vote the same way. Women are more susceptible to the compassion arguments than the arguments based on logic. These are facts based on averages, of course. There are exceptional women who have brains.
NigeeBaby (100 D(G))

Shocker - you are so absolutely right, next time I'm going to do exactly what you say because the one thing that really concerns me in this world is not serious human rights abuses but whether I 'come off as a dickhead'.

"...because the one thing that really concerns me in this world is not serious human rights abuses but whether I 'come off as a dickhead'."

Exactly. If you actually cared about human rights you would be doing something about it, rather than sitting here telling everyone how noble and good you are for acknowledging the fact that these human rights issues exist. But what makes you utterly disgusting is not the fact you are one of many "slacktivist drones" who tell people about these dastardly things other people do to make yourself feel good because you think you're actually doing something about it when you're quite clearly not, but rather that you are part of the problem you are claiming to solve by telling everyone what they are doing won't solve it.

""There are exceptional women who have brains." - show us the picture or it didn't happen"
Classy.

You're worse than the people who point out women aren't treated fairly by men and have to put up with a lot of sexual harassment by misogynist meat heads, then go on to whinge about how they've been put in the friendzone because they've been turned down and start complaining how women only find men who treat them badly attractive as though they're some sort of saint that all women want to fuck at every opportunity because they're so sensitive and open-minded toward feminism.

And you can't even pretend it was a joke, because you're the paragon of politically correct. You've backed yourself into a corner. There's no way out, people are going to think you're a total douche. You will no longer be the last bastion of humanity's kindness. We're all doomed!

Headline News - "Idiot earns true humanitarian credentials by posting news story on webdip forum"
The plaudits have been pouring in, a knighthood is sure to follow......

Trooper you must understand this simple truism ..... the more you talk about me the more you tell us about yourself. As I said perception is projection.
If you truly want to understand another persons actions or motives you probably need to either know them better or just be more intelligent.
Seeing everyones intentions through your own world view is going to fail real quick unless the person is exactly like you ..... and I am nothing like you.
Try using a 3rd person perspective when making judgements about others could be a could ploy.

Is Communism a form of religious belief, where instead of seeing God’s hand at work in all things, one sees the class struggle? When historical events are re-interpreted from a Communist viewpoint in a discussion with non-Communists, is the effect the same as when believers re-interpret historical events as divine intervention, in a discussion with atheists?
