So, it has been a long journey for all of us. As many of you know, I took over as TD last autumn after TrustMe disappeared and did my best to get the tournament back on track. There were hiccups – canceled starts, CD’s, tons and tons of subs – but we all did our best and the tournament was finished. Well, almost. At this point I would like to extend my apologies to Dan-i-Am 88, LanGaidin, Gobba, Bilbo, rdrivera2005, krellin, and Ernst_Brenner for not being able to launch your Round 8 game. Despite that, the one missing game had no affect on the results of the tournament.
Of 55 games played among 49 players (with subs much much more than that), we had 15 solos, which is an amazing 27% solo rate. The winner of the Masters, with 4 solos out of 8 games played, is TheWizard. For second place, both Dejan0707 and TheHangedMan tied at 3 solos each. By the rulebook there cannot be ties, and it was broken by the strength of the opponents Dejan and TheHangedMan faced. Since Dejan soloed against TheWizard and rdrivera2005, who also had a point, Dejan0707 wins the tiebreaker and is awarded 2nd place. TheHangedMan is in third. The other players who soloed in the course of the tournament are Malleus, martinck1, Octavious, rdrivera2005, and myself (who was both a participant and TD).
At this time, I would ask the mods to award the prizes to our winners, as stipulated on the tournaments page. 1120

to TheWizard, 560 to Dejan0707, and 280 to TheHangedMan. Additionally, if it is still going for this year, TheWizard and Dejan0707 have qualified for TGM’s Champions’ Trophy game.
So I would like to thank everyone who was a part of this tournament. It was fun and frustrating and I apologize for not giving it 100% at all times. Quality of play became an issue towards the end, and should the Masters be resurrected, I would like it to be an example of the highest levels of play on this site. It is a wonderful – albeit long – tournament, and should remain a staple of the Webdip community. Any comments on how the tournament could be changed or improved would be welcome at this time.
But once again, congratulations are in order for our Champion, TheWizard, and our runners up, Dejan0707 and TheHangedMan
