To Mute or To Unmute Dip33, that is the question!
Yes, this is yet another poll surrounding the Dip33 phenomenon. I've had him muted for a while now, but it looks as though I might be missing out. Should I keep him muted or unmute the kid? Let me know in this latest "+1 Webdip Poll"

The idiots in the Occupy movement who didn't learn enough spending tens of thousands of dollars on worthless degrees from professors who are too ignorant of the real world to create a job for a hooker on a marine base should Occupy General Motors.

Whenever the nation need's leadership the President is supposed to provide it. Disappointingly the United States did not elect a leader in 2008 with tragic consequences for the country, and the world at large really.

kindle fire
So, I'm trying out my friend's fire. I like the size much more than the ipad, but I still find the keyboard is too large to comfortably type on for a long time. If I traveled a lot, I think it would be cool for reading and watching video. So, thoughts on tablets?

"On multiple occasions I've tried to have a respectful conversation with you and I always seem to regret it."

*Sigh* Sure, abgemacht, whatever you say. You were nothing but respectful.

"When did we start talking about cable and phone companies? I think they suck. I hate them so much. But, we weren't talking about them. We were talking about other companies. Did I ever say that every monopoly is amazing? No."

*Headdesk*. We were talking about concentrations of market share in general. The original topic was ereaders, it moved to mp3s, how should I know that you have random and selective concern when it comes to consumer choice and market concentration.

I'm done.

He will make your arguments for you. It doesn't matter what you actually say, he will just twist your words so that it fits with some bullshit stock response he has.

@Putin

It was wrong of you to jump from Apple/Amazon/Netflix to Phone/ISP/Cable Providers.

The former are content/device providers. The later control infrastructure. There is a huge difference between those two types of companies and my view of them is different.
Putin33 (111 D)
21 Nov 11 UTC
Yeah, thanks Tom. I get it. You're all so very calm, rational, humble, and respectful. You never think you're right. You never get sharp in your tone. You never follow arguments to their logical conclusions in order to make a point. You're just all nice, warm fuzzy teddy bears all the time. And it'd all be so wonderful if it was Tom bombadil & Abgemacht setting the tone for the rest of us, nobody would ever flip out about a comment like "hey electronic readers will probably lead to increased advertisements" ever again.

GFY. Seriously. The holier-than-thou attitude certain elements project here on a daily basis when it comes to tonality is insufferable. Especially because of the staggering cognitive dissonance which is required to engage in it.

Thanks for that kiss goodbye Obi. I'll always remember you for being a self-proclaimed "elitist" of the Nietzschean/Platonic variety who thinks most of the population is too stupid to govern themselves but still manages to routinely berate others for being too imperious, without skipping a beat.

Putin does have a point. Monopolies can develop and when they do the consumer loses. Currently Amazon books for example can only be read on Kindles. It would be better for consumers in the long run if the book sellers and e-read manufacturers did not have this sort of relationship. Ideally you should be able to buy whichever e-reader you want and download from whichever publisher you like.
But I think we should wait to see if the market comes up with this before forcing Amazon to change its practice. It's still early days.
