"Your point about labour division would be a valid point except if you are taking into consideration the global unemployment rate."
If you killed every single unemployed person in the world, you would still have unemployment back in a short time - probably not higher than before because unemployed are not motors of aggregate demand so the recession would not be so harsh (compared to what would happen if you killed an equivalent amount of people chosen randomly). There is not a fixed amount of jobs available in the world, labour demand is directly related to volume of population via private consumption.
"In any case, there are limited resource today."
It's true only in case of individual resources. But what happens if it becomes clear that we're running out of something? When it became apparent that Chinese limitation on exports of precious metals would be in place for a long-term, industries in need of these metals started to look out for possible replacements. In few years, they will find a solution, even though making supermagnets without neodyme is tough.
Overall, we're still far away from becoming a Type I civilization and reaching the limit of what Earth has to offer. Even though this limit exists, those who continously predict that we are doomed in few years are also continuously proved to be wrong. Wholesale self-restraint in growth is not what we need today.
"but aside from this rather pointless semantic point, nobody is suggesting we treat 'nature' as our equals. I was, if anything, suggesting that we treat human life with the same respect which we give our pets (thus in favour of euthanasia/assisted suicide) In fact if you believe in free-will (and i don't) then how can you claim someone who is depressed and suicidal doesn't deserve to die?"
Evo "Nobody" Morales begs to differ.

Anyhow, I said suicidal people are idiots but that it's their choice to be idiots. Many unsuccessful commiters of suicide would admit that trying to kill themselves was the most stupid thing they've ever done. Many youngsters claim that they'd rather kill themselves then to shit regularly in their pants when they grow old. I did. I was an idiot, too.
The majority of those who would apply for assisted suicide would be well capable of killing themselves on their own. Yet somehow, they need someone to help them with the last step. They're idiots, weakminded idiots unable to win over their own instincts that crave for further living. If you aren't able to carry out your most wished wish, don't expect someone else to do it for you. Go ahead, kill yourself but don't expect tacit agreement from me.
