The best solution I can see is to set up a group of people on gchat that like to play live games - so that when you're thinking of setting up a game, you can see who's online before you start, giving you a better chance of getting a game off the ground. It will also make it easier to password games to keep wasters out.
It does mean sharing your email address with strangers - I think for it to work, everyone needs access to the list - so think carefully about which address you use. But the intention is that we would only add players to the list that we've played with before, so that we're reasonably sure everyone on it is legit.
If you're interested, drop me an email (
[email protected]) or add me on gchat. Once we have a reasonable number of people, I'll send an email round periodically so everyone's up to date with who's on the list.
If you don't use gchat, it's just like msn but less evil. Most third party clients (like Trillian, nimbuzz, etc) work with Gchat so you can use this and your main messenger service at the same time if.
So far on the list: me, trip, ava. Come and join!
Feel free to PM me with any questions, objections, suggestions, and other things ending in tions. I'll bump this perdiodically as well.
