Even one unit used properly can screw someone -- just ask Austria in a game I'm in right now. He left my one (Italian) F alive in Turkey and only one unit to keep me in line. It's been 5 moves now and he has had to move 4 units to contain me thus losing momentum in the west. Heh - I told him to make sure Turkey was secure before stabing me...

I've seen people who had "Resigned" next to thier names. Is there a way to resign?

Resigned just means civil disorder.

And some people won't play with you if you have a number next to "resigned."

The only exception I can think of in my short time here to the "don't resign" rule is when, for whatever reason, the server screws up your moves multiple turns in a row. I had that happen in a Thursday night live game to Britain on the first two turns... some orders took, some didn't, no one knew why, and he was obviously screwed, so he resigned instead of wasting his evening. I can't really fault you if that happens to you.

Otherwise, agreed with the other folks. Win, draw, survive, or screw.

I've resigned a couple times in a live game when it was pointless to continue playing, because either A. people were cheating, or B. They were too stupid to stop people from soloing. I wasn't going to waste my time playing when there was no point.
