Part of the reason for the thread was to discuss the slowness of responses which leave the decent players having to keep playing and playing and playing in games which are quite likely spoiled by cheats. It seems that the victims lose in every way. We have wasted our time; those who are knocked out before cheating has been identified have spoiled records (win/lose/draw etc), they also lose points: not the most important factor but still something which the design of this site requires and which are a useful way of controlling games (eg high pots to keep out unknown/newbie players).

This current thread is a deliberate sign post to the other thread and, ultimately, my e-mailed request.

Post reports on the players. That may help. Otherwise, have patience.

the mods are a very busy group of people, they will get to your email but it could take a while. you aren't the only person emailing them or complaining about cheating.

My best suggestion was to recruit more moderators. I don't think there's enough manpower, and it's a volunteer job, so it's not always high on personal priority.

Having been a Mod on a very very big website I know what the priorities and difficulties are. However... It is quite clear that I am not the only 'senior' player who has reached the end of his tether with regard to cheating on this site and in this game.

The special tournaments disguised this somewhat because many of the more reliable players had so many games in these that they stopped playing other games and were not exposed to much open play. I chose to resign from all competitions and just play casual games some months back and have thus discovered that it is really very hard to get a clean game going.

I would also respectfully suggest that those chosen as Mods should make clear what sort of time they can put in and when. A spread of Mods in different time zones would help and my suggestion above of having a few who are dedicated to specific issues, such as cheating, would go some way to helping.

If someone is unable to actually give time to Moderating then they should not take the post. Having a reasonable looking crew on paper is no use if only one or two are active.

As for having patience? I think we all have a limit and whilst I pride myself on being pretty good in this respect, even my limit is being tickled right now.

How does one become a mod? How much time do they need to put in?
